Nothing especially strange was happening so far today. Which was either a trick or a red letter day. Kind if fifty-fifty there.

Either way, Danny was going to take this as the opportunity to catch up on paperwork. Even if it was about the on-going investigation into an upside down pole in town.

"Hey, Danno," Steve said, sauntering in with coffees that didn't get waylaid by extreme bench sitting today.

"No distractions in the park?" Danny asked, barely glancing up from Steve's paperwork.

"Not this week," Steve said, looking pleased about it.

"If you did, I'd have to send one of the troopers to find you." False, he'd be the one going.

"You wouldn't come yourself?" Steve asked. "But I'm bringing you coffee!"

"What kind of coffee is it?" Did it have pumpkin spice that Danny would forever deny liking?

"It's the fall one," Steve said, rolling his eyes like his didn't match.

Which it did.

"I guess I could suffer through it."

This was clearly Grace's fault, you know.

"Good, because it's a long walk back to the Perk."

It was not.

"And you're tired," Danny suggested.

"I hate exercising," Steve agreed.

"Loathe it," Danny agreed, grinning now.

"Definitely don't do it all the time," Steve said.

"That six-pack? Genetic." Well, it half was.

"Just cleaning living and no malasadas. Daniel."

[hatesparadise]

"Sounds like you do juice cleanses and yoga all day," Danny shot back.

Steve snorted. "My yoga is not that good."

[hatesparadise]

"Much more of a Mary thing," Danny agreed. "And even she's not big into it."

"It's because Aunt Deb picks the music," Steve said, nodding.

Danny laughed at that, nudging at Steve with his foot. "Okay, I'll buy that."

"Just...way too many chimes," Steve said, making a face.

"At least she's not still asking if you're a swinger," Danny pointed out.

Steve shuddered. "I had successfully repressed that, thank you!"

"If I have to remember, so do you." It was part of the semi-marriage thing they had going.

Since they met, really.
