Scott had a visitor coming this weekend! A visitor, in fact, whom he would have to actually retrieve himself and accompany to Fandom -- he'd thought about enlisting her mom or stepdad, but that seemed like it would just open up a lot of questions about the island and he didn't necessarily want to get into that. Things were already, occasionally, hard to explain. To put it lightly.
So, with a rice krispie treat delivered to Jeff (sure to definitely not attract any bugs), Scott settled down behind the counter to put together a little preemptive list of things that might be fun around here for a nine year-old. (Like, he at least knew there was a playground? He'd never gone, of course -- nothing weirder than a lone middle-aged man on a swingset -- but maybe she'd be interested in that?)
