So it looked like Alex was going to be visiting this weekend after all, which now that Steph thought about it had probably been inevitable from the moment that Alex started playfully giving her shit about going from one small town to another. She'd fired back, good-naturedly, and then it had turned into a game of 'which small-town thing is weirder.' (Haven Springs had turned out to be much closer competition than either of them had expected; Steph really couldn't disprove Alex's insistence that the Haven Spring Festival might really be a secret pagan ritual, for one. And for another, Alex kept saying that Steph had to be bullshitting her about, say, the ticklemonsters, which was absolutely fair.)

Really, it was only natural for that conversation to come around to a Fine, come see for yourself moment.

In the meantime, she was busy setting up a display of games suitable for groups of 3 or more, broken down into two categories: Co-Op Mode and PVP.

Look, people just had different ways of bonding sometimes.
