The Devil's Nest, Friday Night
"You know it's a bit late to be doing 80s requests, Tiny," Lucifer sighed, settled as he was behind the piano. But Tiny had been good recently, he supposed. No weird shenanigans (that had inconvenienced Lucifer himself), no blockades, no consorting with that moron from Caritas.
"But since it's Kate Bush," he continued, "I suppose I'll give in this time."
And then maybe throw in a bit of darker New Wave afterward, in case Duke decided to stop by.
Well, Running Up That Hill it was, belated in multiple ways or not. Lucifer sipped his drink and set his fingers to the keys.

Hell yeah, he was. It was Parents Weekend. He was here to be all of your relatives' terrible choice.

"A soda for me and he'll have a whisky," Layla said. She'd dated Marc for years. She knew his drink order.

Yes, Lucifer had met Steven and not him but whatever. Marc had enough he needed to worry about, he wasn't going to be assed on not crossing the streams between him and Steven. Though he did add, "Marc," just so Lucifer wasn't left hanging.

What? Layla liked Steven. Some days more than she liked Marc. Most days, actually.
"Pleasure," Layla told Lucifer. "Marc's told me nothing about you. Which is typical for him."
Marc? Very much could use that drink right now.

"I'm surprised a place like this has a nightclub," he muttered dryly as he took a seat.

"My good man!" he shouted to Tiny. "Two of those fakey bloods, unless you've got a drunk human back there?"
He turned to the doll Nadja, deferring to her preference.

Guess what? She could not, in fact, drink anything. She just wanted someone to go to some effort on her behalf, thank you.

"Do you need a straw, my miniature darling?"
no subject
"Hello, Laszlo."

Truer words had rarely been spoken, really, although, honestly, since Colin Robinson did spend an awful lot of time just in his basement bedroom, it may have come as a surprise to some that he'd have even noticed. But of course he did. And not just because of Nadja's complaining or Nandor's sulking.
Although he did rather enjoy both of those things.

Yes, he had just the one joke, and it was terrible.
Yes, that was the point of it.

"Leave," he said.
no subject
"Okey-dokey, artichokey," said Colin Robinson, with a nod, lifting up his hands as though he meant no harm at all, despite what his choice of words may suggest, and he straightened up off the bar as if to leave. "We'll see you later, alligator."
Of course, he wasn't going to go anywhere once he saw Laszlo, but that wasn't the point.
no subject
Of course, that was about the point where Tiny started loudly wailing a lyric or something at the top of his voice, and so Lucifer took his eyes off of Colin Robinson for a second or two.
"What did I tell you? You only get Kate Bush if you don't sing along!"
