Arthur had debated showing up yesterday to finish whatever kind of job interview Detective Diaz was going to give him.

Then he'd decided that he didn't want to just get another runaround, and that he'd already done one job for her, so he would just consider himself hired.

He went to the office, picked the lock, turned on the lights, and with John's help gathered up the papers on the desk and started going through them.

There was a creak of stairs, and he looked up.

"It's a man in his thirties," John informed him. "Dark hair, fit. He's wearing sunglasses, but he seems to be looking at us."

"Hello," Arthur said, nodding. "I'm the new detective working with Miss Diaz."

"Huh."

"He is shrugging."

"Want some coffee?"

"No, thank you."

"Okay."

"He has turned around and is going back upstairs."

"We probably shouldn't worry about him, then." Arthur shrugged himself. "What does this one say?"
