The Photo Hut; Monday [10/31].
Prompto was a little bit late coming down to get the store opened that morning, and when he did, he had a cat with him. Liz hadn't been feeling very well, so naturally, he couldn't help fussing and trying to do everything he could to help her feel better that he was probably having the opposite effect and just making her want to throw him out the window. And then there was trying to make sure Rain didn't eat any of the plastic spiders; he felt maybe he should avoid the candy, too, almost as if in a sign of solidarity, but that also meant that he didn't want Liz to worry about it, so he'd be keeping Rain with him so she wouldn't have to.
It was never a bad thing, after all, to have an adorable fluffy assistant for the day, although if Rain really wanted to assist him, she'd do so by taking his phone away, as he'd started looking up symptoms to try and determine what was normal for a person in this stage of pregnancy, whether or not it was something they should worry about....and everyone knew how that sort of thing usually went....

She gave a small tired smile as she watched him on his phone, “hi,” she said softly.

He almost went on to chide her about how, if she did, she could have just texted him, but managed to stop himself. He'd probably been plenty overbearing enough as it was, no need to make it worse.

He hesitated a moment, and then, moving to actually walk around the counter instead of just hopping over it (if anyone needed an idea of just how concerned he was), went over to Liz, so gently try to guide her over to the chair to have a seat.
"Did you want coffee? I can go get some, if you want. Or make Gladio get it. Or I bet Iggy's already there, probably, I could have him bring something for you."
Hey, if the gang was all (mostly) together again, might as well tap into those resources, right?

And then immediately felt bad for it, and mentally promised himself to extra cat snuggles once Liz was back upstairs and resting again, plus two extra treats to make up for it.
But for now, he smiled reassuringly down at Liz, planted a kiss on the top of her head, and shifted his attention to the task at hand.
"I'm on it."
First by texting Gladio, who basically informed Prompto that he was not his errand boy, though before Prompto finished rolling his eyes, an offer came through that he'd get the coffees if Prompto did an extra training session at the gym this week.
Since that wasn't happening, he took to calling Ignis instead. "Hey, Igs," he said, "it's Prompto. Where are you right now?"
The broad grin at the response and the wink he threw down at Liz was one of victory. "Great. Perfect. Can I ask you a favor? Can you pick up a small cappuccino and a PSL for me and swing by the PH to drop it off? ....yes, really, it's Halloween, and pumpkin spice lattes are delicious, and....yeah, yeah...mmhmm...yeah, okay, Iggy, I got it, can you bring the coffee or not? Okay, fine. Great. Yeah, I know, don't worry. Thank you."
With that, he ended the call and grinned proudly at Liz, with just a touch of apology. "He might be a moment," he said, "but he'll be on his way."

"Trust me, kiddo," he added, now clearly addressing said bump, "once you're out of there, you're going to love it. I mean, just the candy alone...!"

Although, really, the less she got from his side of things, the better...

He found himself glancing, impatiently, over his shoulder to the door, wondering how long Ignis was going to be, but knowing he couldn't be mad if it took a while, all things considered.
His attention shifted back to Liz. "Want any water or anything? This okay?"

He have her another smile, wishing he could just text Ignis to see what the hold up was, but of course he knew, and of course it wouldn't make a difference, and he couldn't even really be mad or irritated about it, either.
"If anything, I can just have her do some screenshot tests for her eventual holiday film debut, right?"
no subject
“Screen tests will definitely be good practice for her,” she nodded with a small smile.

Bugs were still definitely not his favorite, but what a relief it had been to find out they weren't real.

Right near the end of that observations, the door to the shop opened, a honking goose waddled in proudly, having successfully lead Ignis and a tray of coffees into the Photo Hut. "Prompto?"
"Oh, sweet," Prompto flashed a grin at Liz. "Coffee's here."
He hopped off the counter on Liz's side, bending over to drop off a quick kiss, before hopping over the counter to the other side to hop over and take the drinks off Ignis' hands, especially as he seemed to bed struggling with the door, between drinks, cane, and the goose at his feet who seemed to be trying to help while forgetting that he couldn't.
"Thanks, Iggy" Prompto said.
"Don't mention it," Ignis said with a nod. "It's a good path to know. I daresay, the stairs are turning out to be quite the unexpected boon. Most of the paths will end up being just a matter of remembering how many steps between one place and the next.
"I take it the cappuccino's for Liz?" he continued. "Is she here now?"
"Yeah," Prompto nodded, "straight ahead, by the counter."
Ignis nodded, then shifted his face that way. "Hello, Liz," he offered. "I believe congratulations are long overdue."

Her smile widened at that, it was the happiest she’d looked all morning despite her tiredness
, “thank you Ignis,” she told him as he turned towards her, “and welcome back, how have you been settling in?”

He gestured down in the general direction of Shane.
"I have temporarily acquired a goose. It's Shane, by the way," he added, with a honk to confirm, "lest you merely assume I've stumbled upon just a random waterfowl."

“I hadn’t realised, how long has he been a goose for?” she wondered.
