Fandom Fire Station, Monday

It was Halloween and Chris was still willing to go trick or treating with his dad, so that was a real win there. But, of course Eddie had to work at the station for now.

But on the plus side, he could hand out candy here. And smoke alarms. Don't forget about the alarms, folks. It was, after all, fire safety month!

Had he not noticed the candy rain? Didn't seem so.

Buck came in, holding his hand to his head. "I got hit with a king-sized Snickers."

Oh, he was also eating a king-sized Snickers.

"...someone threw a Snickers at you?"

Look, weirder things had happened in L.A.

"No." Evan, you knew exactly what you were doing by not offering further explanation.

Which was why Eddie was totally giving him one of those Looks for it. C'mon now, Buckley.

"It came out of the sky," he said before taking a bite of his Snickers. Then, with his mouth full, "Along with some Skittles."

Those he already ate.

"You're telling me that candy is just falling out of the sky?" Eddie asked. "After I bought candy to hand out?"

That was some bullshit.

"Yup," Buck said. "Which kind of makes you a sucker, huh?"

Honestly, Eddie, you should have called the candy falling out of the sky thing.

"Give me that Snickers," Eddie said, batting at it in a way that said he wasn't really trying, but he kind of was.

"My mouth's already been on it!" Germs, Eddie. Icky Buck germs.

"Do you have cooties or something?"

Yes. Yes, he did.

"In the case of me getting to keep my Snickers?" he said. "Yes, yes I do."

"Fine, you don't get any of the candy I'm handing out." And Eddie was for sure putting a bucket outside to collect sky candy.

"You probably have bad taste in candy anyway." Mary Janes and Bit-O-Honey's like an old man.

"I have excellent taste in candy," Eddie insisted. "It's the good chocolate ones."

And a huge bag of Dum-Dums because they looked sad on the shelf.

"As good as a Snickers that fell out of the sky?" he asked.

You know he couldn't compete with king-size candy bars, Buck!

"You can have a smoke detector instead."

"Look at you, being responsible," Buck teased. "Firefighter of the year, for sure."

"We had a bunch in storage once I brushed all the confetti off of them," Eddie admitted.

"Oh yeah, you'd think there'd be spooky confetti or something today," Buck said, frowning. "This station has weird timing."

"If nothing, I've gotten really good at sweeping here."

Since he hadn't gotten the real shit duties as a newbie in the 118.

"Oh so that's you who has been doing that." Buck had planned on just letting it sit to see how big of a pile they could get.

"And you didn't think to help?" No, clearly it was going to end up being jumped in.

"I considered it office decoration." Which was a great excuse not to clean it up.

"Really." Eddie shouldn't find it quite so amusing, should he?

"It was festive," Buck insisted. "And only a slight fire hazard if left in piles."

[justalittlerepressed]

"It's not a fire hazard." It kind of was.

[firehousehimbo]

"A big pile of it would be," Buck said. "A big pile near someone with a lighter."

"And we have a lot of those people just loitering here?" Really, Buck? Really?

Buck shrugged. "You never know. Shouldn't we be prepared for anything?"

"Might actually give us something to do here." Eddie, no.

"God, that'd be great." Buck, also no.

"A really small fire."

Oh, it was gonna happen if they kept talking about it. Or maybe they'd just find a burned demon corpse or something.

Better than the squishy portals, lets be real.

"A medium fire," Buck said. "Big enough for the both of us."

"A two man fire," he agreed readily. "Or maybe someone stuck in a staircase bannister."

Those let them use the fun tools without anyone being in real danger.

Buck pouted. "I miss using the chainsaw so much."

"Maybe the trick is making the opportunities to use these things." Hear him out here... jaws of life on a rickshaw.
