"No, Tino," said Summer, with a heavy sigh, whenever her fellow bartender in question tried to shove his phone in her face to show something to her, "I don't care what you found on the Jones soda website, because that's, like, basically cheating, anyone can find weird shit on there. Ugh. It's like amateur hour in here, or something."

If she was going to make turkey and gravy jello shots, she wasn't going to chintz out on just using flavored soda, she was blending up the real thing herself, dammit.

Thankfully, y'all had a couple of weeks before having to deal with any of that, and, instead, you got....some unexplained leaning toward brunch and....spaghetti?

Look, she couldn't find a good lasagna jello recipe, this was close enough.

Where you sing! Sometimes for free jello!

Where you drink! And...eat? Whatever it is you do when you consume a jello shot, the jury still seems pretty out on that one.

Where you sit! Which you can also do at the bar, but it's definitely way less crowded over here.

Where literally no good decisions are ever made. Period.

After spending the past week as a cat and turning back at Connor’s without any clothes, Cutter was in desperate need of a drink.

“Scotch please, a lot of scotch,” he sighed as he took his seat at the bar, “and maybe a couple of the shots as well?”

"Let's maybe start with a little bit of scotch and work our way up," said Summer, with a grin, although there was nothing little about the heavy-handed pour that was quickly set before Cutter. "And which shots were you thinking? If you don't specify, I'm just going to assume you mean all of them."

Cutter looked at the shots on the board, was very tempted for a moment to go with all of them and then remembered how he had been after the party on the cruise.

“Er - right, I don’t think I’m up for all the shots any time soon,” he admitted, “I’ll go with the mango mimosa and …the blood orange mimosa please,”

"Mimosas all around!" Summer noted, cheerfully and happily adding those to the barspace in front of Cutter, and then, since you don't come in looking for 'a lot of scotch' without a story behind it, she asked, "So what's the occasion?"

“Celebrating not being a cat anymore,” Cutter told Summer as he picked up the scotch, “also turned back into a human completely naked in front of my friend and colleague so I’m not sure who that was more awkward for,” he admitted. “well he’s not my actual colleague, I know a version of him back home …it’s a little confusing with the timelines,”

Especially when one of them involved Cutter being dead but he didn’t know about that.

Summer nodded understandably at the commisserstion with confusing timelines, then gave a sympathetic smile at the rest of it. "Connor, right?" she guessed. "I warned him about all that last week...there's a reason why I fully quarantine myself when I turn into a squirrel. But hey! Turning into an animal! That's, like, a classic Fandom milestone! How'd you like it?"

"The spaghetti worries me," Jane said, as any sane person would.

Would Stark be able to make eye contact today after yesterday's class and this morning's radio notes where Leroy had drawn some wild conclusions? Let's find out!

"Hello, Summer.

"I know," Summer sighed, "it really should be lasagna, but I just couldn't get it to work."

Yes, Summer, that was exactly what Jane meant.

But she looked over hopefully after that with the requisite, "Wanna try it?"

Leroy was an absolute menace, and Summer should have never kissed him that one time, oh-em-geeeee.

Summer gave Stark a faint smile, already wondering how much attention the bar in front of him was going to be getting that evening.

"Hello, Stark," she said back, then gestured invitingly toward the specials board. "Can I interest you in a full jello shot spaghetti brunch experience tonight?"

Because, well, when she put it like that...

"Can I get the other shots to, ah, cleanse my palate after?" She was trying to be very nice about this culinary monstrosity.

You really shouldn't, Jane. That only wound up encouraging her.

"Absolutely," Summer assured her with a nod, already getting that spaghetti shot to start with, because if there was an open door, you better believe Summer was throwing her body into it to keep it from closing. "They're all pretty good palate cleansers, actually. Well, most of them. It all depends on how you feel about tomato-y drinks on the bloody mary."

She couldn't help it, okay? She couldn't help it

"I like bloody marys," Jane assured her. "Noodles being added in, though..."

"Hey," Summer shrugged, dropping off the line of other shots for Jane to also pursue at her own leisure, "you only live once, right? Or more than once. Or possibly forever. And sometimes not at all. YOLO definitely does not apply well in a place like this."

That was very much a sentiment that Jane had to whole heartedly agree with. All things considered.

"Well, YOLO," Jane agreed, lifting the shot up in a little cheers motion before taking it. "Oh. OhI. It's like spaghetti-o's straight from the can."

"In a good way?" Summer asked. "Or a bad way?"

Look, she was a stoner, she had definitely experienced moments when spaghetti-o's straight out of the can was practically transcendent before.

Yes, but that would need some mind altering drugs here. Which, going off that YOLO thing...

"In a way," Jane said diplomatically. "I'd say back to the drawing board."

"So, in other words," said Summer, nodding sage-like, and unable to help herself, "you're like to see more."

Her grin was probably not nearly as innocent as she would allege it to be.

"Got it."

MISTAKES WERE MADE HERE.

"I get those other drinks now, right?" To make up for all of this.

Ah, but the real question was whether or not we learn from our mistakes. If anything, Summer was just doing her part in providing a very helpful lesson.

"You have absolutely earned them, yes," Summer confirmed, shoving them helpfully across the bar toward her.

"So," she said, knowing full well that this was a helluva a question to ask after having someone consume jellified boozy spaghetti, "how've you been, Jane?"
