The Junkyard, Wednesday

Michael was working on fixing up an old rickshaw to tool around town with. Or possibly working on upgrading the rickshaw? Investigating how the hell it managed to roll so smoothly around all those stairs.

Anyway, he was tinkering with an old rickshaw. It was nice. Sort of reminded him of home.

Admittedly at home the engine tended to have less hair stuck in all the gears. Apparently this thing had had a run in with an alot of hair. Requiring an alot of repairs.

Not that Michael knew anything about the alots yet.

Hopefully, a quick text coming through wouldn't be too much of a distraction...

You got ten minutes to tell me to abandon course, or I will be showing up with coffee and doughnuts shortly

who am I to turn down donuts and company? Michael replied. I'll even try to clean up a bit before you get here!

And true to his word, there was Connor, a box of sugary treats in one hand, a coffee cup tray in the other.

"Well, well... you DO clean up nicely," Connor said with a playful smirk as he walked over. Had Michael had time to clean up any? Maybe. Maybe not. Connor really didn't care one way or the other. As evident as he set the goodies down on the closest convenient spot and went to give Michael a quick kiss.

"Aren't you getting a little forward," Michael said. (He'd wiped some grease off? That was cleaning up, right?) "I like it."

The grease look was a nice touch actually.... kinda sexy in a way.

Connor had to bite back the apology that threatened to spill out. Michael was teasing. It was all good.

"How's all this going?" he asked with a nod towards the rickshaw.

That was why Michael had added the 'I like it', so Connor wouldn't have to apologize!

"It's alright," Michael said, turning away to look at the rickshaw again. "No idea where all this hair came from, though. It's like it plowed into a whole mountain of squirrels or something."

"Are there sasquatch or something on the island?"

Didn't seem likely with how small the island was but then again, this place had shown it was nothing if not odd and surprising.

"That DOES seem like a LOT of hair though!"

"Not that I've heard of. But I wouldn't put it past this place." Michael adjusted his hat. "Hopefully it didn't actually run one over."

"Pretty sure the rickshaw would be in slightly worse shape" Connor said with a thoughtful nod.

"Think you've done enough work for now to take a break in any case?"

There were tasty donuts and caffeine to be had after all.

"I'm not getting paid for this, so why not? I've never been long on work ethic anyway."

Eh Connor had a less than perfect role model for work ethics in Cutter so, no worries there.

"Gotta keep up the energy and all right?" Connor said lifting up a donut.

"Exactly," Michael said, leaning in to take a bite while Connor was still holding it. "Thank you!"

"Don't mention it" Connor said with a laughing grin and then took a bite of his own, trying not to make an absolute sugary mess.
