Yes, everyone in Graham's DnD group were pretty much big nerds, but they probably weren't big enough nerds that they would skip out a homecoming dance at their school just to play DnD. At least Graham wasn't! He loved big parties and dances and didn't really even know what a homecoming was, so he was really excited about it and had every intention of going, so he gave everyone a head's up that the game was probably off for the night, but, if they all went to the dance and it ended up being boring, then they could just play there instead!
He did not imagine it would be boring, though!
But, of course, he did still have to work that day, so he came in to see if there was anything in particular that needed to be taking care of, before chatting it up with Saffron (the conversation was very one-sided, but he was used to that), and then, unable to help himself after reporting about it on the radio, he just had to check out those winter-holiday themed games. The fact that the notes said that Steph had been adamant against them made them seem a little bit forbidden, so that naturally made them far more interesting to him than they would have been otherwise.
