The Photo Hut; Monday [11/14].
Even if there were a lot of things different about this weekend, one thing stayed pretty solidly the same: Prompto had mostly kept to himself the whole time, or, alternatively, just sort of clung to Rain. Liz was very nice, but he didn't know her, and he just felt awkward about everything, so he generally tried to avoid her. This meant having spent a good portion of yesterday just going around and taking pictures around everything around the island, and he knew, when he discovered the apartment he was staying in was above a photography store, that he was going to probably send this day exploring that.
He thought it was kind of weird that no one seemed to really work there, but that just meant he could be left alone while he checked out all of the different cameras and got a little wistful about one day having something a lot nicer than the one he'd gotten from his parents for his birthday a few years ago. So many cool features! And interesting accessories! He had so much more to learn about photography! He could probably spend all day in here, really, especially since he didn't have to go to school while he was here, and it was quiet, and he could just be by himself.
Well, except for Rain, who he obviously brought downstairs with him, and he was getting lots more pictures of in between gazing longingly at all sorts of fancy models of cameras.

She did try to do her best to look after Prompto , even when he seemed happy to be by himself and with Rain.
She had spent most of the morning doing errands since Prompto had seemed rather content to be in the store with Rain and then came back around lunchtime, she had brought a box of pastries from the bakery since she figured that buying coffee for an eight year old was a little weird.
She smiled when she saw him with the cameras, “they’re nice cameras aren’t they?”

So he was relieved when that wasn't the case, but he still just sort of blinked at her owlishly through his glasses when she came in. He knew he should probably say something, but he couldn't, and just gave a stiff, awkward nod before immediately turning back to reading the box of the camera he was currently inspecting, while Rain continued to twine around his ankles purring.

She couldn’t help but worry that she was doing this all wrong, she rested a hand on her bump as she held the box out for Prompto with her other hand.

He did want to help, that was still true, but he also wanted pastries, especially now that he felt his nervousness coming back with her there.
"T-thank you," he said. "I--"
He wasn't sure what else to say, honestly. SO he just...didn't, pulling the box a little closer.

“You’re welcome, is there anything else you’d like for me to get you? I bet you’ve had a very busy morning with Rain,” she said gently.

"N-no," he managed to get out, staring down at the top of that box. "I'm okay. Thank you."

"She's pretty good," he said quietly, "about getting her picture taken..."

But a photo album? Of cats? That definitely caught his attention, and Prompto lifted his head hopefully toward Liz...
...but...
He'd already caused her enough trouble. And he'd probably ruin it, or something, getting sticky pastry fingerprints on it and smudging all her photos of her friend's cats, and then what? Liz was so nice that he didn't think she'd be mad at him, but she would probably be disappointed, and he'd be upset with himself, too, and it wasn't worth the risk. So he shook his head.
"No," he said. "It's okay. I'm fine with looking at--"
Oh no! What if he messed up the cameras???
"...I'll just have the pastries."
He couldn't mess up anything if he just sat quietly and ate, right?
Ugh. Story of his life.

She had noticed that had gotten his interest even if it was only for a short time but she felt she could give him the option of looking at it later, “you know, maybe when you’re finished eating, we could make a photo album full of Rain’s pictures? we can use any camera that you would like to try,” she offered.

He was going to take that as an agreement to the idea; he wanted to just ask her, but Liz would probably think he was pretty childish, talking to a cat like that.
"Okay," he concluded, with a nod, looking back at Liz, but only for a fleeting moment, before his eyes dropped again. "When I'm done eating."
Since she mentioned using any camera he'd like, he thought about asking about that really nice LOKTON he'd seen upstairs in the apartment. He'd always wanted one of those; those were the best you could get in Insomnia! But he noticed there weren't any LOKTONs for sale down here; most of these brands he'd never even heard of, so that LOKTON was probably pretty special. He should probably just stick to the one he had now...She was already being super nice, and the album itself was already a lot.

“So is there a particular camera you’d like to try and use for your photos?” she asked gently.
no subject
"No," he said, "not really. I'll just keep using the one I've got."

Maybe he'd eventually even get the confidence and the courage to hold her up to that offer!
Probably not, but maybe!
"T-thank you."
