The Magpie Emporium; Friday [11/18].

After having indeed picking up some scones at the bakery after his radio broadcast and on his way to work that day at the Maaaagpie Empooor~rium, Graham was a little disappointed that Saffron seemed pretty disinterested in them and Little Bot only had some when he crumbled one up and scattered it on the floor...which made sense, actually, but he felt kind of silly, making a mess just so Little Bot could enjoy them, but that was just the way the cookie crumbled, he supposed.

Or scone, in this case.

He took care of a few things here and there, and then settled in behind the counter with his Big Book of Notes for his campaign, hammering out a few details that seemed a bit disjointed with how the last couple of months had been pretty hit-and-miss with being able to really get together to play, but it wasn't a real DnD campaign without several missed sessions here and there, right?

The Magpie Emporium is open!

Given how well lunch had gone yesterday, Vi had swung by the same place on the way here and had brought a platter of various kinds of rice paper roll and dipping sauces. "Hey."

"They're this kind of wrap with noodles and meat and vegetables inside," Vi said. "They're pretty good."

Veggie tray? Check. Dice and notebooks and manual? Check! Feeling just really glad that everything worked out this week that no one was animals or away or at homecoming enough to get together this week? Extra check!

Although Libby wouldn't have minded if things worked out that they could have all played this when they were wee and small, but there were more than a few problems with that being able to come into play, she imagined.

Jo was looking forward to getting back to the game and, she did feel rather bad that she had been part of the reason for one of the sessions to be called off so she brought alone extra boxes and sweets to make up for it.

“Hello,” she smiled brightly as she arrived.

Jo smiled completely unaware of the dramatic narrative or she would be rather worried that people thought she could be capable of poisoning sweets.

“It’s going rather well, at least this past week has been, I’m relieved that everything has seemed to settle down for the time being, even though I suppose now the holiday season is almost here,” she remembered how last year had gone. “How about you? How has your week been?”

Guillermo had had a couple of weeks of not cooking between being a bat and then a child and since he was going home for Thanksgiving next week he wanted to make sure he had enough snacks to make up for his lack of cooking recently.

He had his usual containers full of empanadas and this week he had ended up making four pies, going with pumpkin, cranberry, apple and chocolate.

He had spent so much time cooking that he had nearly lost track of time and was rather breathless when he showed up, “hi I’m not late am I?”

Guillermo would definitely be hoping it was because of him, not that he would ever be admitting that but he was very proud of those pies he wouldn’t blame Graham for brightening up for the pies instead of him.

He smiled in relief, “oh that’s great, I thought I was going to be late, I wanted to make sure I had enough snacks this week,”

He looked down at the containers, “and help would be great thank you,”

Kurt arrived for game night with several bowls in tow. One contained homemade trail mix, one had homemade chocolate caramel popcorn, and the other had some homemade apple chips.

"Hey Graham, how have you been?" Kurt asked with a grin as he arrived with goodies in hand- and tail.

"Doing good.... other than bouncing around as a mini version of myself last weekend" he said with a laugh. "But it's been good. classes are still good. Been keeping busy with getting back to cooking after far too long of a break..." And No! His eyes were NOT shifting over to glance over to see what a certain someone was doing at that moment. How DARE you think such a thing!

"Wind is riding," Vi said. "Much easier to react to something unexpected when you're not stuck in a box."

She picked up a d20 and rolled it. "Seventeen."

"Esthrana will also be riding," Libby confirmed with a nod. "She feels pretty natural on a horse, I imagine, from her upbringing, and she'll probably ride on the opposite side of the carriage from Wind, just to cover their bases..."

Her dice went thunking onto the table, and she leaned over to have a look. "Ooh!"

And then check her character sheet and her eyes went wide for a moment.

"Oh, wow, okay, so that's a 23!"

Apparently, she had a stupid high perception bonus that she'd forgotten about, but she was not going to complain about it!

"Amenken will be walking. His Wolfen features and abilities allow him to walk and run easily and he finds riding animals to be uncomfortable and off-putting at times. This will also allow him the freedom to circle the caravan regularly to check in the guards and fellow travelers to ensure everything is well."

A moment later the dice clattered onto the table and after a brief calculation of the dice roll and his perception boost, he gave a grin. "Looks like Amenken scores a 21 on this one."
