"You do realize," Lucifer said slowly, as he eyed Tiny's latest... invention. "That I am not actually British? I just happen to quite enjoy this accent."

Tiny gave that a mighty shrug.

"Yes, I know there's such a thing as English Breakfast tea," Lucifer replied, staring at the drink - and the specials board - again, "But they mean a particular flavor of flavorless leaf water, not mixing all the ingredients of an English breakfast in with some vodka."

And yet.

"You're lucky I find this entertaining," Lucifer decided, and swept past Tiny towards the piano.

"What the fuck did Tiny make?" Eric asked, lurking in the shadows like a complete stereotype.

"English Breakfast Bloody Mary, according to him," Lucifer offered. "I'm sure he'll fix you one up with fake blood if you ask for it."

"No," Eric said. "I love myself more than that."

"Do you really?" Lucifer asked, amused.

"Do I love myself more than an English breakfast Bloody Mary made by Tiny?" Eric said, grinning. "Absolutely. I'm worried about those who aren't."

"Bold words for a grown vampire lurking in the shadows like a teenage goth," Lucifer said, smirking.

"I was doing it before they were," Eric proclaimed. "They're copying me."

[my_own_advocate]

"Certainly what I would say if I were cribbing my style from famous vampire novels popular under teenage girls," Lucifer said sunnily.

"I don't fucking sparkle," Eric said.

"You'll notice how I didn't narrow the novels down to a particular time period," Lucifer said, amused. "Isn't there a new television series about one of them?"

"I've lost track," he said blandly. "I'm just glad we're done with the brief werewolf obsession."

"So the whole rabid werewolf hate thing is real, and not something they made up?" Lucifer said.

"Oh, they're assholes," Eric assured him.

"Taking that with a grain of salt, but howso?" Lucifer asked.

"Well, one killed my father," Eric said, "but that was a literal millennia ago."

[my_own_advocate]

"Ah," Lucifer said, and poured himself another scotch. "Daddy issues."

"Sorry, am I encroaching on your territory?" Eric asked.

[my_own_advocate]

"People have been doing that since the beginning of time, darling," Lucifer said dismissively. "Do tell."

"Not much to tell," Eric said. "He died, I went into the dark looking for vengeance and ran into a vampire instead."

[my_own_advocate]

"Suppose that's somewhat preferable to finding a werewolf," Lucifer noted.

"Infinitely," Eric said. "Werewolves are just...ugh."
