After spending a very interesting Thanksgiving with Raiden and his family, Jane was sort of glad to be back on the island. If only because she couldn't start any sibling arguments over wanting a peppermint mocha immediately after the holiday was over with.

Sorry, Raiden. She was suddenly very glad that she had only ever had to deal with the one sibling from Thor. Could you imagine if he had more?

Anakin had stopped at Stark's to say hello to Rey and so now he needed a non-peppermint anything to drink.

He smiled to see Jane. "Hello."

Why would he need something without peppermint? It was winter now, Anakin. It was winter.

"Anakin, hi!"

Coffee should taste like coffee, Jane.

"Did you go anywhere this week?" he asked.

[needsacatchphrase]

Not if you could have something fun at least!

"Raiden invited me to spend it with him and his brothers since, well, Asgard doesn't celebrate. And any other friends I'd spend it with are busy with work. What about you?"

[sith_happened]

"I went to Connecticut with Rory and the kids," Anakin said. "We ate Thanksgiving with her best friend, then with mom and her stepdad, then with Rory's grandparents, then with then with her mom's best friend's family, and finally with her stepdad's sister."

No, they couldn't combine any of these dinners. That would make sense.

"...that sounds like a lot," Jane said slowly.

"And then there was a Festival of Leftovers. With a troubadour."

Stars Hollow was special.

"Is this a different universe thing?" Jane had to ask. Because it sounded like it.

"No, just a small town full of bored people thing," Anakin said.

[needsacatchphrase]

"This is why I'm not a small town type," Jane said, nodding as she considered it. "This place not included."

[sith_happened]

"I spent most of my life on a city that literally covered a planet," Anakin said. "Small towns are baffling."

[needsacatchphrase]

"...really?" Yes, share more about space. "Wow."

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "It's a planet called Coruscant. The center of our galaxy, at least politically. The actual center isn't someplace you want to go."

[needsacatchphrase]

"Meaning it's dangerous or---?" Because this was an astrophysist he was talking to here.

[sith_happened]

"Well, the Deep Core of the galaxy is a super-massive black hole," Anakin explained, "and navigating the planets and nebulae nearest to it is a pretty dicey flight. Most of the important, habitable, planets are a little further out, in the Core Worlds. That's where Coruscant is."

[needsacatchphrase]

"Have you been close to it?" Jane asked, definitely leaning in for more details on the matter.

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "It's a good place for pirates and other beings up to no good to hide," he said. "And I'm a very good pilot."

[needsacatchphrase]

"The only time I've been in space barely even counts because it was going to Asgard when it wasn't on this planet." So she felt like she missed out on that stuff.

[sith_happened]

"Well, that's no fun," Anakin said. "I have a shuttlecraft in the junkyard--it's not junk, it's just a good place to store spaceships--and we could fix that."

[needsacatchphrase]

Jane nodded along like he clearly needed the encouragement for his not-junk-shuttle. "If you'd be willing, I would love to. Then I can judge your piloting skills for myself."

[sith_happened]

"Hey," Anakin said, wrinkling his nose. "I was galaxy-renowned."

And not in a "I made it up" Peter Quill way!

[needsacatchphrase]

"I'm sure you were," Jane replied loyally. But also because c'mon now, Anakin. C'mon.

[sith_happened]

"No, really," Anakin insisted. "My partner Obi-Wan Kenobi and I were known throughout the galaxy."

[needsacatchphrase]

"That sounds exciting," Jane said, sounding wistful at the idea of adventure and exploration of new things out there in the universe.

[sith_happened]

"It was," Anakin said with a smile. "I think that's what I miss most living here: exploring."
