The Park, Saturday Afternoon

So, there was a two story tall snowman in the middle of the park. And some snow. Just in the park. Those things really seemed like it should be leading up to some sort of bizarre battle, right?

But no, no it wasn't.

Instead, Jane was left just standing there as the snowman boomed out good tidings. So, all in all, a very weird day if you asked her.

"Well, I guess it's better than tinsel," she muttered, tapping Mjolnir against her thigh like that was a perfectly normal thing to do with a mythological hammer.

Kurt had not been at the party last night- for obvious reasons- so he was actually quite full of energy that day. And the park seemed like a good place to go for a little outdoor training.... that was until Kurt arrived and saw the snowman. AND all the snow.

"This is.... different," he muttered as he stared, resisting the sudden urge to just start jumping in it like he used to back home.

"Hi, Kurt," Jane said, waving the hammer now that the snowman was probably not any kind of threat. Unfortunately.

Maybe Wanda would summon up another demon for her!

"Oh, hello Dr. Foster!" Kurt called back with a wave as he glanced from the snowman for a moment. "Did... did you do this?' he asked with a nod towards the snowman who was still booming out greetings and supposedly causing the very localized snowfall. Look, he knew Dr. Foster had powers and abilities... maybe snow powers was one she just hadn't mentioned yet?

Jane shook her head with wide eyes like if that was a Thor power, it was news to her. "I think it's just an island thing? At least I hope so."

"Yeah.... the island seems to do some odd things," Kurt said with a thoughtful nod. "I remember hearing a few people say that things can get a little crazy in December so... maybe that is what this all is? At least we get some nice snow out of it right!?"

Was Gray making snow angels or had he fallen asleep on the ground? Or some combination of those factors? It was hard to tell. At any rate, now he was sitting up and saying, "Oh, hi, Dr. Foster!"

"You okay over there, Gray?" Jane asked, concerned because she definitely hadn't seen him in the snow before.

Gray seemed to consider the question carefully before he answered, "A little cold." Yeah, buddy, because you were sitting in the snow. "You?"

"Did you fall asleep out there?" Jane asked, now sounding a little worried as she went over to offer him a hand up.

"Gray!" Kurt called out as he ported over, at first thinking Gray might have needed some help. Maybe he had slipped and fallen in the snow. "You alright? Need any help?"

"Oh, hey, Kurt! I'm fine," Gray assured him. "I was just making a snow angel."

And possibly napping. Shhh.

Kurt nodded, that made sense. "Snow angles are fun to make aren't there?" he asked with a grin.

Stark had stumbled upstairs to his apartment at some point post-party after consuming an unwise number of jello shots, a bit of bathtub punch, and a Christmas bellini with Margo.

He'd wandered back down the stairs much later in the day than usual in search of coffee. And food. Which he'd procured and he was working on a very large coffee when he walked into the park.

"It's snowing. But it's only snowing here."

He'd had too much last night to properly process this.

Jane shrugged helplessly at that. "I was hoping for a fight," she admitted, gesturing over at the giant snowman.

Stark took a couple quick steps away from the snowman. "Has it been threatening," he asked, only a little nervously.

"Right now it just seems loud."

"Unfortunately it's been very... cheerful." Look, she had this hammer and these muscles! And she wanted to use them!

Was there a dude in a tank top and a stolen bath towel doing a walk of should-have-some-shame through the park?

Yup.

"Hot," he commented.

CADE, THERE WERE LEVELS OF WRONG HERE.

"Um." Jane was going to accept that compliment. "Thank you! Unless you mean the snowman?"

"I think the snowman's the exact opposite of hot," Cade said with a chuckle.

"I'm not here to judge anyone." Even though her expression said otherwise.

"You're not dressed," Stark pointed out helpfully. Very helpfully.

"Well, my pants got ruined at the party last night," Cade said with a what-can-you-do shrug.

"...How?" Stark asked. "I don't even remember seeing you."

Of course, Cade wasn't the only person there he'd managed to miss entirely. Somehow.

Cade was getting wolf whistled by an alleged teenager sitting in the snow.

Naturally he did a little turn to show off the entire ensemble. "Thank you, thank you."
