The Magpie Emporium, Thursday (12/15)
The snowflakes all seemed to be missing Steph so far today, for some reason or another. Maybe it was just luck, or maybe it had to do with the fact that they seemed to be drawn to Saffron instead?
Though, to be fair, they weren't exactly making Saffron act out of the ordinary.
Which, Steph decided, made complete and total sense.
Well, so far this week's weirdness seemed pretty run-of-the mill... right?
[OOC: Still sick, so I'll be a bit slow but I'll be around. Open!]

"Miss Gingrich," he managed, stumbling inside and leaning heavily against the shop counter. "I could- " use some help, he wanted to say, but couldn't quite manage to get out.

Steph's voice was sharp with alarm, and she immediately ran over to make sure the door was shut -- Little Bot beat her to it in the end but she still had to check -- and then see to him.
"Holy shit, what happened? Are you --" Well, no, he clearly wasn't okay. Vague comparisons to Alex stumbling into the Black Lantern after Jed tried to kill her had Steph's mouth a little dry as she asked, "Who did this? Do we need to get you to the clinic?"

"Not really, thank god," she said, and ducked behind the front counter for the first aid kit and a box of tissues. "But -- how? Who did this to you?"

"Wait. Back up. He doesn't care for your kind?"
Had you ever really heard Steph pissed off before, Watts? Because Steph definitely sounded pissed off now.

“Mmm,” he affirmed. “In addition to having it out for me specifically, apparently.”

Steph’s offer to kick Edwards’s ass on his behalf, though, had him feeling oddly grateful.
"
Steph gave him a lopsided smile. "Honestly? Just as long as you're okay, that's the important part. You're not like... internally bleeding or anything, are you?"

Did it actually make all that much of a difference?

"You're here," she said, reaching out to grab Vi's hand. "That's just an automatic improvement."

Vi curled her fingers through Steph's, dropping the bag of takeout she'd been bringing over on the counter and stepping into Steph's space. "I can think of a few other ways I can improve your day."

"Oooh, my smartass hero," Steph said affectionately, and nipped playfully at her lip. "Here to rescue me from an ordinary --" mostly -- "work day with the power of sexy overconfidence."
no subject
"It's not overconfidence when it works," she said, nuzzling along Steph's jaw.

"But you keep pointing it out, though," Steph retorted, sort of trying to shuffle them toward the office as Saffron made a disgusted noise.
