Prompto knew what was up the moment the customer walked through the door that morning.

"Got another one for me, huh, buddy?"

The man sheepishly handed over a camera that looked like it might have had a very awkward encounter with a mixing bowl, and Prompto took it from him with an assuring nod.

"Don't worry," he said. "I'll see what I can do for it. But, man, one of these days, you and I are going to have to go get a drink together and you can tell me how you even manage to get it like this."

Now that he had the camera in his hand and could inspect it a little closer, he added, "Or several, by the looks of it."

This definitely had to be a multiple-drink story...

Noctra was fed and now awake so Liz decided to take them downstairs for a visit around lunchtime.

“Hi,” she smiled brightly, “someone wanted to say hello,”

Noctra gurgled happily.

Looking up from the camera pieces mangled and sorted in front of him, Prompto instantly smile and pushed his chair back. "Hi," he said, as his arms went up almost automatically. What? He couldn't be expected to give Noctra a proper hello from all the way over there, could he? "Two someones, I hope."

“Of course, I wanted to say hello as well,” Liz smiled as she shifted Noctra and gently held her out to him, “how are things going down here?” she asked, noticing the broken camera pieces.

"Good!" Prompto assured her, as he got up a little, just to make the hand-off a little easier, already settling Noctra into the curve of his arm with all the skill of someone who'd honed this exchange to perfection by now. He settled back in his chair, taking a moment to blow a few kisses Noctra's way before his free hand went up to idly waggle fingers at her and hold them out for her to fixate on a little bit as he continued on to answer Liz's question. "Really good."

His head cocked toward the counter.

"Our camera destroyer is back," he reported. "As you can see. Honestly, I don't know how he does it, but I'm definitely not complaining. At this rate, this guy is going to singlehandedly help keep this place afloat."

And then his attention shifted back down to Noctra with a little gushing, "Heeeey, there, little lady. You're being good for your mom today, right? You want to come help your dad with this camera? This little tiny fingers of yours," his own finger brushed against hers a little, "would be perfect for getting into all those little tiny nooks and crannies, right?"

“Again?” Liz smiled at that as she watched Prompto and Noctra with a fond smile, “how did he manage to break it this time?”

Her smile widened at the last part, “Noctra has been very good this morning, we had a very nice feed and she didn’t make that much mess,” she said, “I think she would be excellent at repairing cameras,” she added fondly.

Prompto's eyes just sort of went a little wide, imagining the horrors that might answer Liz's question, shaking his head and trying to think of even where to begin, before the rest of what she said made him laugh.

"Oh, okay, cool," he said, making as if to get up from his seat again, "so we'll just leave her here with the camera and then you and I can go grab a bite to eat or something!"

Liz started giggling at that, “I think she might not be quite ready for that, she still needs adult supervision,” she grinned and then paused, “even though getting something to eat does sound really nice,”

Well, since Prompto had already half-gotten up, he figured he might as well follow through, especially since that meant he could lean in and give Liz a quick little kiss before straightening up again to give Noctra a few little gentle bounces. "Wanna go for a food run, maybe?" he suggested. "Get the chance to get out of the apartment a little, I'll keep an eye on this one? And who knows? Maybe by the time you get back, she'll have picked up so much, she'll be pretty much running circles around me when it comes to camera repairs."

Liz smiled at the kiss, “you know a food run sounds pretty good, if you don’t mind watching Noctra, is there anything in particular that you would like me to get for you?”

Her smile widened at the last part, “I think she will surpass us both when it comes to cameras, won’t you Noctra?”

Noctra let out another gurgle at that.

"You know I don't mind," said Prompto, despite being slightly suspicious of exactly what kind of gurgles those were going to end up being. "And I don't really have a preference. Get whatever you want, babe."

Even if it was soup.

He just didn't have the heart to tell her that he was definitely starting to get over soup.

Now that she didn’t have the pregnancy cravings, Liz was starting to feel the same way about soup, “maybe we could share a pizza or I could get us some pasta?” Liz began to think about the different options that Fandom had that she could get , “I … um think that maybe we can have something different to soup,” she admitted.
