"Raclette."

Lucifer eyed Tiny dubiously from one of the booths.

"And here I thought you'd finally given up on the whole 'apres ski' mess. I mean, the ridiculous hut is gone, good job, but... really? You're going to get cheese all over my bar?"

Beat.

"Don't look at me like that. You've got the bloody thing sitting on the bar, I know you're going to cause a pr-- see? There you are! Spillage."

Tiny grunted.

"Why is there cheese dripping all over my fucking bar?" Eric asked, coming in from the back office.

"Because Tiny's still on his bloody Alpine kick," Lucifer called, clearly annoyed.

"What the hell is wrong with him and why is he making it our problem?"

Eric, Tiny was right there.

[my_own_advocate]

"He has been making it my problem for over a week," Lucifer told him irritably. "Why don't you try asking him?"

"I don't want to get even more involved in whatever this is," Eric said unhelpfully.

[my_own_advocate]

"Then you'll just have to stop whining about the cheese, won't you," Lucifer said, equally unhelpfully.

"Complaining about something and doing something about it are two different things," Eric said.

Was Stark sulking, a little, about Summer canceling on him tonight? Absolutely. Why wouldn't he?

At least Tiny and his cheese were a distraction?

"Cheese?" he asked. "Why is there cheese?"

"Tiny has a hankering for the Alps," Lucifer sighed, "And we all have to pay for it."

"The Alps are cheesy?"

Stark didn't know. He was not very well traveled, still.

"At least he isn't putting it in drinks."

[my_own_advocate]

"Raclette is a thing they do there," Lucifer sighed. "Mainly in skiing resorts full of very drunk Europeans."

"I've never been," Stark said. "Skiing or to resorts full of drunk Europeans. I do like cheese."

Who didn't, honestly?

Not enough to eat melted Tiny cheese that may or may not have touched the bar though.

"Well, you're free to scrape some off the griddle," Lucifer offered. "If you dare."

Stark shook his head. "No. I don't like it that much."

If he were hungry enough he might consider it but that sort of hunger didn't happen here.

"Just drinks tonight."

"Because Tiny exists to vex us," Eric added, nodding.

"With cheese?"

At least he wasn't building out of the raclette, right? Yet.

"Does it taste good?"

Sure, ask the vampire viking if melty cheese tastes good. Makes sense.

Eric wrinkled his nose. "I'm not eating anything that touches that bar."

"I wasn't going to eat any that was on the bar. I just haven't had that cheese. I don't think."

"You're going to trust Tiny with food prep?"

He wasn't Tino but that wasn't saying much.

"Cheese?"

The question sounded drily judgy.

It was also directed at Tiny, rather than Lucifer.

Lucifer sighed. He made a gesture with his hand. "It's raclette."

"Does he know that?"

[my_own_advocate]

"Yes," Lucifer said. He eyed the griddle on the bar. "He just doesn't know how to make it properly."

"And let me guess," Octavia rasped, still eyeing the thing with the cheese as well, "all you've done all evening is bitch at him about it?"

"Not telling him is the only small sliver of enjoyment I get out of this mess."
