Oh yes, this was much better. None of her new servitors had enough brains remaining to set them on anything complicated, like taking inventory or setting up displays, but they were certainly capable of following such simple orders as 'clean' or 'dust' or scrub. And so the windows were now clean and sparkling, the floor was swept and mopped, the hole in the floor covered by sturdy boards, and the last of the shelves were being studiously dusted by three of the zombies, now neatly dressed in matching livery. Naked zombies lacked the parts to scandalize, but it was the principle of the thing. Lili wasn't going to let her zombies look like they were wild ragamuffins without anyone to care for them! Appearances mattered.

While they were doing the menial labor, Liliana was lounging behind the counter in a suitable chair she'd had two of the zombies carry down for her, making up an inventory list as another liveried zombie handed her the contents of yet another box. Perhaps this shopkeep thing wouldn't be as onerous as she assumed, now that she had the proper help.

Though a few living people might not go amiss. Her zombies were far too stupid to make actual sales, after all.
