"Pie Day Eve is not a real holiday," Eric told Tiny, arching his eyebrow at the banner above the bar.

Tiny shrugged and handed him an Apple Pie on the Rocks.

"Well, that's delicious," Eric had to admit. "The theme is still dumb, though. It's significantly better than whatever the cheese thing was, though."

Tiny, as usual, was ignoring the feedback.

The Devil's Nest was open! Come have a pie-themed drink.

Gladio certainly didn't know enough about Pie Day to contest it requiring an Eve, but he wasn't about to argue with pie-inspired specials, and might have been wondering how many different ones he could try without regretting it in the morning.

He was starting with a Boston Cream martini, though, with a lift of his glass in appreciation to Tiny for it.

"Gladio," Eric said, smiling.

"Eric," Gladio answered back, smiling in kind, with a lift of his drink to him as well. "How's it going?"

"I'm amused by humans trying to save daylight," Eric admitted, smirking. "What a strange practice."

"Ehhh," Gladio shrugged a little, his face scrunching up slightly with a little skepticism, "when you put it that way, as a guy who spent nearly ten years without any of it, I can kind of get the appeal."

And, in that moment, he connected at least two dots.

"You'd have probably loved it, though," he realized.

Eric nodded. "Sunlight isn't my favorite," he vastly understated.

"Gotta be honest with you, man, big fan of it myself," Gladio admitted, with a bit of a snort that provided a nice contradiction to the delicate sip from his fancy pie martini. "But I appreciate that you and I can get along despite these glaring differences of opinion."

"I can appreciate your tan," Eric said with a little leer, "while still having no need to go outside and catch fire."
