Well, if there was anything to really solidify Summer moving on from the Rebound Stage of her breakup into finally smoothing out into some sense of normalcy and just getting the fuck on with her life, it was coming into the store that day to deal with Apu doing something absolutely ridiculous for some random-ass holiday, which today, included changing all the signs to French.
"What are we," Summer asked, "Canada now?"
But Apu mostly ignored her and went about putting anything with a French name on display in the front of the store.
"Do you even know French?" she then tried. "Or are you just leaning heavily on google translate right now?"
And when he continued ignoring her, she blinked and realized, "Oh, god, are you refusing to talk to me unless I speak to you in French?"
He tried to keep ignoring her, but a self-satisfied smile gave up the game, and Summer shook her head.
"Fuck off, Apu," she said, "how's that for your French?"
