Liz was still feel a bit unsure about her second shift back at work, she wasn’t sure if she was ever going to really get comfortable adjusting to being back at work - even if it was only for a few hours but she knew this was going to take time, that she was still missing Prompto and Noctra. She decided to start some inventory work and sort through some old stock that had been in storage basically since she had moved back to Fandom, she was starting to realise as she went through the boxes that there was quite a lot of old stock there … it probably wouldn’t hurt to try and look into clearing it out somehow.

Well, at least Liz wouldn't have to spend the whole day missing them, because, eventually, Prompto made his way downstairs with both baby and the lunch he'd spent the morning preparing expertly and carefully balanced, maybe a little later than exactly lunchtime, because, well, Noctra actually had fallen asleep for a bit there, and he wasn't about to wake her up any sooner than he had to at that point.

"Hi," he said, grinning over at Liz for a moment before that grin shifted down toward Noctra squirming just a little and making a few small noises of her own. "You hungry at all?"

Liz looked up from the inventory she was doing, smiling at both Prompto and Noctra as they came down, “Hi,” she grinned back happily, momentarily distracted a bit by the sounds that Noctra was making before she looked back up at Prompto, “actually I could do with some food, especially after spending all morning working on inventory,”

"Exciting!" Prompto noted with a laugh, coming over to plant a kiss on the top of her head before going to put the bag he'd put the food in on the counter. "But that's perfect, I just spent all morning working on some lunch.

"Not much," he warned her, in case she was expecting some real fancy fine dining over here. "Just some chicken and pasta. Lotsa veggies." All the ones most recommended when googling the best foods for postnatal health, actually! "That was actually the most of it, just prepping those, but she slept through most of it, so it all worked out."

Liz smiled as Prompto kissed her on her head, “well it sounds like you both had a productive morning,” she grinned at both of them, “and that sounds amazing, thank you, I’m looking forward to it,” to which she leaned in and rewarded Prompto with a quick kiss, being careful of Noctra as she leaned in close.

"Mmm." Prompto grinned into the kiss with a soft hum of appreciation and a mind to maybe eke a little bit more out of that reward if it weren't for the fact that Noctra was definitely recognizing Liz's voice and making it well known through fussy little whimpers that she'd actually like some of her mother's attention now, too. Prompto had to laugh a little, his grin going a little rueful.

"Switch you?" he offered. "You take the bean, I'll go rooting through a few of those boxes, give you a break?"

Liz reluctantly broke the kiss and turned her attention to Noctra as she began to start fussing and reached out her arms so she could take her, “I can definitely take her for a while,” she assured him with a smile, “I didn’t realise just how many boxes of stock we had in storage, I think some of these have been here since I first moved back to Fandom,” she admitted.

"Well, that wasn't that long ago," Prompto pointed out, with a teasing grin, and that weird sort of feeling that always went with having to acknowledge that it was especially not that long ago for her compared to how long ago it had been for him. Although, really, either way you looked at it, a lot had happened in that relatively small slice of time for her. He gave her another quick kiss before gently passing Noctra over, and then shifting his attention toward the boxes, since he figured all of Liz's would now go toward the baby. He was pretty sure Noctra would make sure of it.

"But I guess," he mused, picking up one of the camera from the nearest box and looking it over, "we don't exactly move a lot of these that quickly, either..."

Liz grinned at that, “that’s true,” she agreed as she began to start trying to get Noctra to settle, carefully holding her in her arms, “I was thinking we probably didn’t need to try and keep a lot of this stock in storage, maybe we could try selling it elsewhere, especially since we don’t really sell that much stock here,” she admitted.

"Hmmm." Now Prompto's hum was a thoughtful one, as he set aside the first camera he'd plucked out of the box and moved on to considering some of the others. "A few of these," he mused, "I might want to keep around because they're a similar model to the one the guy who's always breaking his camera uses. Might not be a bad idea to have the spare parts, you know? But you might be right...hey, isn't there some kind of flea market or something going on this weekend? I think I heard Apu mention something about it..."

But it was kind of hit-and-miss, the sort of things you should pay attention to when it came to Apu...

“I can see how that would be useful, keeping a few models handy,” Liz smiled as Noctra started playing with her fingers and making gurgling noises, “I haven’t heard anything about a flea market but then I don’t really keep up with a lot of news around town,” she admitted, “but that could work, we could try and see if any of our older items would sell there,”

"I'll maybe look into it today," Prompto offered, "if you wanted to keep an eye on Noctra for a little bit here. Maybe I can get some errands taken care of, too, if there's anything you need. Will save me the trouble of trying to squeeze it all in before or after my shift tomorrow...of course, then there's just the question of which one of us'll actually do the thing, if we do."

Based on everything he'd read, it was still way too early to have Noctra out and about if they could help it, and, even if he hadn't read about it, it still amazed him how new and small and delicate she seemed, he wouldn't have felt comfortable outside of popping her into some kind of protective bubble subsequently reinforced with bubble wrap.

“I can definitely watch Noctra here,” Liz smiled as Noctra continued to make happy gurgling sounds, “it might be nice to have a stall at the market, maybe get some business for the store …we could even offer to take photos there for people?”

Then she tilted her head, looking down at Noctra, “would she be old enough to let someone babysit a few hours? If we found the right person?” she bit her lip at the idea of leaving Noctra, “I think she’s still too young for her first official outing,” she admitted.

"Yeah, no," Prompto agreed firmly, "we're not dragging her to warehouses any time soon. But..." He paused, hesitating a moment before looking at Liz with a shrug. "There's always the guys. Iggy and Gladio, especially if it's only for a few hours."

His smile, after that, was a little bit guilty, feeling incredibly selfish for thinking it, buuuut...

"It would be kind of nice, though," he admitted, "getting to do something with just you and me, for a change."

Liz looked a little guilty as well as she glanced down at Noctra before looking up at Prompto with a soft smile, “it would be nice to run the booth for a few hours together, it’d be a nice change of scenery …if you’re sure Ignis and Gladio wouldn’t mind looking after her for a few hours?”

"They won't," Prompto assured her, pretty confident in that. "I think they've been kind of wanting to see her, although they're not going to come right out and say it. And between the two of them, I'm sure it won't be too much of a disaster. If anything," he quirked a grin her way, "by the time we get back, Iggy'll have her whipping up dinner and Gladio'll finally get her on those laps."

Noctra let out a happy gurgling noise at that and Liz couldn’t help but laugh gently at that and she held her close, “ well I think Noctra definitely loves that idea,” she smiled.

And Prompto had to laugh a little, too, if only because it just did his heart good to hear Liz laugh like that. "What do you think, kiddo?" he asked, leaning over a little toward them. "Think you can handle a couple hours with your uncles? You won't give 'em too much trouble?"

Noctra cooed happily as she looked up at her father with wide eyes. Liz smiled warmly at both of them, “I think she’s looking forward to spending time with her uncles,” she said fondly. “whether she’ll be good for them, I suppose we’ll find out won’t we?”

"I'm totally setting up baby cams," Prompto vowed. "This could be too good not to."

Also, because he was legitimately worried and would probably pour over the footage and then present Gladio and Ignis with notes for improvement and at least one impassioned rant about some minor thing that they should have known better about, especially you, Ignis.

Also, he was definitely going to be too busy checking in on his phone every five minutes to even take pictures at the event.

Liz smiled fondly at that as she looked from Noctra to Prompto, “she’s probably going to be a perfect angel with the baby cameras,” she said, her smile widening, “even though, I think it’s a good idea to have them on, just to see how she goes,”

She trusted Ignis and Gladio but she was still going to worry a lot and she would also be checking her phone constantly.

So there probably wasn’t going to be a lot of pictures being taken at the event.
