Watts had not slept well last night. And so today shortly after making his way into the station he was curled up under his desk for what would surely be a brief nap.

Did a text count as interruptible? Because sometime mid afternoon one came in from a familiar number.

Watts had folded up his suit jacket, where he typically kept his mobile telephone, to use as a pillow. And so it was the buzzing of his telephone underneath his head that roused him eventually.

hello up he texted back.

Steven smiled at Llewellyn's usual texting skills.

Not bothering you am I?

The keyboard was tiny and his hands… were not!

woke me from a nap but menevr a bother.

Steven frowned. He double checked the time to be sure he wasn't wrong about it being Friday and also afternoon.

Napping? At work?

Which was fair, though now Steven wondered if he should be concerned.

Did you not sleep well?

Were it anyone else, Watts might have brushed off the question. But it was Steven, and they’d promised total honesty, so.

Well that got a frown, then a call as Steven went from texting to ringing Llewellyn directly.

One of the most convenient features of modern telephones, in Watts’s opinion, was the ability to tell who was calling.

“Hello, you.”

"Hello, you," Steven said. "Are you all right?"

[pocketpretzels]

"Just catching up on lost sleep, is all," Watts assured him. From his spot underneath his desk.

"Any particular reason you didn't sleep well?" Steven asked. He didn't want to assume the worst but, well, Steven's thoughts did that sometimes.

"Unpleasant thoughts that led to unpleasant dreams," Watts informed him. A situation that wasn't at all unusual, really; Steven had bore witness to those bad dreams on occasion, his presence often helping to banish them, in fact.

Well that wouldn't do.

"Would you like me to come by?"

"I wouldn't want to-" inconvenience you, interrupt your day, he started to say. But then a little voice in the back of his head piped up, one that sounded an awful lot like Steven, reminding him that it was okay to ask for things.

"If you're not busy."

... Sure, we'll count that as a partial victory.

Steven was already getting off the couch to gather his things. "Shall I bring you a coffee as well?"

"The mocha kind?" Watts said. "Please. You're wonderful."

Steven was already planning on that type. "Give me a few minutes and I'll be there."

He knew his beau so well!

"I'll see you shortly, then."

Steven made a quick stop by The Perk then headed to the Trooper Station. When he got to Llewellyn's office he saw the closed door and knocked. "It's me."

Watts had given some consideration to just staying in his nice, cozy spot under the desk until Steven arrived, but ultimately decided against it, and so was sat at his desk when Steven arrived.

“Come in!” he replied.

Steven came in then closed the door behind him. He had to juggle it a bit because he was carrying a cardboard tray with two coffees as well as a small paper bag, also from the Perk. "Hello, you."

Yes, he was looking Llewellyn over to see how he was doing.

Feeling somewhat sheepish for not answering the door, for one, considering he knew Steven would be making a stop at the Perk.

Also he still looked somewhat sleep-rumpled, having not fixed his hair or anything else after crawling out from beneath his desk.

“Hello, you.” And finally and perhaps most unsurprising of all, looking very pleased to see Steven.

In Llewellyn's defense, he didn't know Steven was picking up snacks as well.

To that end, Steven came over to the desk and deposited the coffees and the bag. "Two mochas, two muffins. One chocolate chip, one blueberry. Take your pick."
