The Photo Hut; Monday [03/27].
You know what? Prompto had started his shift pretty stressed out and sort of flaily about what had happened last weekend. Sure, he was incredibly grateful that he and Liz ducked out early like they did, but even the fact that a fire had happened was not going to be easy for Liz to come to terms with. Add in the fact that they still didn't know if Noctra had inherited any of Liz's powers and not knowing how or when they might manifest one day, and he was feeling pretty on edge. Kind of wishing there was more online about how to tell if your baby has fire powers, but also just sort of going over the same 'fireproofing your home' check-lists he'd poured over months ago, as if trying to seek out something that they may have missed, just in case.
....but all that sort of faded away into the background, because, one minute, Prompto was frowning at his screen, as he started to type something into the search bar, and the next minute? That searchbar was nothing but a long keysmash, as capable typing hands were suddenly just big old paws.
Then, with a couple of barks, Prompto, now a puppy, hopped down from the chair he'd previously been sitting in and started sniffing around the store, maybe looking for treats or something fun to play with, flailing about fires now swiftly replace with a desire for belly rubs and ear scritches.
(To be fair, Prompto really didn't need to be a puppy to appreciate belly rubs and ear scritches, but they did take a bit more precedence than usual at the moment).

The fire had freaked Liz out a fair bit- even though she hadn’t been there when it had happened, she still felt guilty that maybe the fire had happened just because she’d been there.
She came downstairs for her and Noctra’s weekly visit because it helped to think of something other than the fact that there’d been a fire somewhere she had been only hours earlier.
Then she blinked a bit when she realised that Prompto wasn’t there, “hello? Prompto?” she wondered if maybe he’d stepped out for a bit.
Then she spotted the puppy, “oh,” she tilted her head, carefully adjusting Noctra as she came over, "Prompto?" she called softly to see if she could get the puppy's attention.

Another bark, and he scampered over to her her hurriedly, excitedly, eager to see her, eager for pets and maybe even snuggles, but then he stopped just short of hopping on her when he noticed the baby and then instantly, reverently, he stopped and sat down in front of them. Even though he was still practically vibrating with eager puppy energy, he obediently stayed still and reserved, looking up and quirking his head with a curious little sound.

“This is nice isn’t it?” she said fondly as she petted him, “and I have someone here who wants to meet you too,”

Noctra looked at puppy!Prompto with wide eyes as she looked and then let out a happy squeal.

It was nowhere near close to the same sound and it may not have been an actual attempt to copy it but it was still pretty adorable right?

She carefully adjusted her hold on Noctra as she reached a hand over to give Prompto a pat, “this is going to be okay isn’t it? It’s going to be fine,”
She really hoped it was going to be okay.
