Diego didn't want to see another cardboard box ever again after last weekend. He didn't know when they acquired so much crap, but he was about to subscribe to a minimalist lifestyle.

Was that even possible with children?

Had Steve been avoiding Diego so he wouldn't have to get recruited to move his shit? 150 percent. It was the bro way.

"Hey, man," he said, grinning as he came into the office.

He was in luck because Diego hadn't even known that was a trope. This was the first time he had stuff to move.

He usually packed pretty light for someone who grew up in a mansion the size of a city block.

"Hey," he said. "How's it going?"

"Pretty good," Steve said, smiling. "We're heading back to Oahu for the weekend to watch Grace say she's too old for egg dyeing."

Oh, right. Easter. Easter was a thing kids did. God he had so much to catch up on.

"Isn't it a waste of eggs?"

"Only if you can't convince them that egg salad is good."

Which...debatable.

"But egg salad isn't good." Especially with eggs that had been sitting out for god knows how long waiting to be found!

Annie was going to have to get creative to get Diego behind Easter in a couple years when the twins could walk.

"Yeah," Steve agreed. "Egg salad's gross. Maybe a deviled egg?"

"Better." Somehow. "Ugh, I was at a wedding with my dad recently and the dude ate a deviled egg with a knife and fork like a freak."

"The correct way is all in one bite, then smiling to gross out your date."

No.

"See, that's a food I avoid if I do have a date." Was there any food less sexy than eggs? No.

Maybe eating ribs? The combo of sauce everywhere, stuff stuck in your teeth, and the possibility of a cheap plastic bib o' shame? But eggs was definitely up there.

"Well, Annie has to love you anyway. It's in the vows," Steve, not actually married, said wisely.
