Boc had eventually made it back to the shop again, after his second stint as a tree, and apparently, just in time, too! As a new delivery of clothing had come in, mostly things for the summer fashions, the staff told him, but one box included a multiude of garments, shorts and trousers, by the looks of them, that had arrived terribly distressed and torn and tattered.

"Oh," he frowned disapprovingly as he held up a pair of shorts and shook his head in dismay. "Oh, no. No, no, no, this won't do at all, just look at them! So frayed and torn, and..." A small gasp as his attention shifted to the trousers, shorts set aside, and those pulled out instead, one of his long claw-like fingers poking through a small hole. "How unfortuante! Well! Luckily, I can patch and hem these all up, no problem at all. I'll admit, I'm not familiar with the material itself, but they're easy enough fixes, perhaps that's why they sent them! It'll be good practice, anyway..."

And as he settled in, crouched over the box with his sewing kit and determination, the employee at the counter said something so outrageous, Boc had to stare at them in shock and disbelief before he could even begin to understand how to respond.

"What do you mean?" he finally gawked. "They're supposed to be like this? No, no. Begging your pardon, master, but that can't possibly be right! Who would buy clothes intentionally full of holes and rips and frays? Surely, you must be joking. Poking fun, having a laugh at the expense of poor old Boc...."

Head wagging, he resumed his mending, though he couldn't quite shake the absurdity of it. "Supposed to be that way! Can you even imagine?"
