“There was just a holiday about candy,” Stark said. “And eggs. And candy eggs.” Yes, he knew there was more to it than that but it wasn’t his holiday and he liked all the candy, okay? “So today we have recipes using candy and candy eggs. And regular eggs, from chickens, but not in all of the recipes. Mostly candy though.”

"Seriously, you guys," said Summer, looking over all the candy, "please buy more holiday candy at your local general store. We get so much of it, and believe me, I handle all the inventory at that place, I've tried to stop the orders, but it just doesn't work. So, instead, that means after any major holiday, you better believe we're repurposing this stuff for this class."

“There’s plenty of candy. So much candy,” Stark said. “If you’d like to just eat some while you work please do that as well.” Assuming any work was happening in the classroom today. You never knew.

"Just make sure to actually create something with the candy, too," said Summer, with a nod. "If you need inspiration, of course, we have recipes: anything from sandwiches"---yes, she said sandwiches--, "to donuts,"--okay, better, probably?--"to Easter specific s'mores. Those are probably my favorites."

A….pause.

"Also, if you really want to impress, I've even got an omelet recipe."

“A what?” Stark asked, looking over at her with a horrified expression. “No. Candy doesn’t go in those!” Summer, why would you do that to him?

"Bon appetit, everyone!" Summer sang out, blatantly ignoring any complaints and/or criticisms, thank you.

Or just marvel at all the Easter candy. And what you're expected to do with it.

Seriously, anyone tackling that omelet gets major points.

Positive points? Negative points? Probably both, so you break about even.

They’re both here this week and operating at minimal levels of weirdness with each other.

Stark was there. Stark wasn't being weird ~~yet~~. There was no reason to be weird this week, besides the usual.

And once everyone was done giving her their horrified looks and setting to the task of either setting everything right in the universe with some half-decent creations or maybe even trying to find something worse than the omelet, Summer plucked up a jelly bean, popped it into her mouth, and asked, "You busy on Thursday?"

"No?" Stark said, though it came out sounding a bit like a question. "Not that I know of. Am I supposed to be?"

"No," Summer assured him. "Because you've got an appointment," here, she slid out a little reminder card with the date and time on it and slid it across the table toward Stark, "for a fitting for your suit for this weekend at Pixie Dust."

"My suit already fits," Stark said as he picked up the card and looked at it curiously. "Doesn't it?"

"This is for a new suit," said Summer, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Your Paris suit doesn't really go with my dress, so I bought you another one that does."

On her own credit card this time, too, thank you very much.

"You bought me another suit?" Stark repeated. "So we'd... look better together? Oh. Thank you? That's... thank you."

Oh no. He was going to give you a heart-eye look now, Summer.

"...you know how important it is for me to look good at these kinds of things, Stark," said Summer, lifting her chin slightly in bold defiance of the notion that there was anything heart-eye worthy going on here.

It was just accessorizing.

"You always look good," Stark said, then dropped his gaze quickly. "I've always thought so."

"Thank you."

What? Like she was going to argue? But that lifted chin now took on a distinctly self-satisfied tone.

"So you can see why it's important and we don't want to mess that up with you in an ill-fitting suit. I mean, I'm pretty sure I got it pretty close, but a fitting won't hurt."

Assuming that Boc guy actually knew what he was doing, anyway. Well, even if he did, dude was so nervous, she half-expected Stark to walk out of there looking like a pin cushion.

"I would never want to make you look bad," Stark said. "I don't know if I could but I wouldn't want to. Do I need another shirt as well?"

Hopefully Boc wouldn't poke him too many times.

"And I just...go there?"

"Shirt's included," Summer said, with a nod, "shoes, too. Luckily, I already knew the size for those."

You know. From all the snooping.

"And, yeah, at the time on the card. It's an appointment, so you'll be expected. Did you even know that we apparently have a tailor--"

Summer, Boc had told you repeatedly he was a seamster, not a tailor, but okay.

"--here on the island now?"

"You got all that for me?" Stark asked. "All of it? No, I ought to pay for that. You...you do more than enough."

Someone was going to get hung up on needing to repay her, again.

"And...I've met him. Boc? He won't call me by my name."

They could work on that. Hopefully.

"You don't have to pay me back, Stark," said Summer, pausing just that slight little bit before adding, "But you should definitely pay your stylist. She does good work; you're going to look great."

See? Problem solved, debt potentially squared.

"And really?"

Cue Summer trying to go back and replay the conversation they'd had, that totally happened and wasn't just being shamelessly modded, how dare you. She definitely hadn't noticed. Even if she hadn't gotten the slightly less egregious miss, she still might not have noticed, actually.

"Huh. I wonder why not? He seemed a little..."

Odd, even for her.

"Jumpy? Maybe it's a cultural thing. Maybe where he's from, people cut off your tongue if you call them by their name, or something."

"I'll have to see what I can offer my stylist," Stark mused. He had a few ideas. None he ought to speak out loud.

"He tried calling me master," he said, looking slightly distressed at the memory. "He seems very nervous. And...I know about nervous. I'm always worried about something." Or everything.

Summer snorted and gave Stark a look that seemed to wonder when he became such a (pardon the expression) master of understatement.

"Yeah, no," she agreed, "that guy made you practically seem like the Buddha in comparison. I can't even tell you how long it took me just to convince him that, yes, I really did want him to hire him to tailor your suit..."

There may have been half-hearted, entirely joking death threats....which were just met with an agreement that he would certainly deserve as much and she's be likely doing him a favor.

Fucking yikes.

"Actually," Summer realized, "you know what? I can totally cancel and arrange something else on the mainland, if you prefer."

"He seemed to think everyone preferred him when he was a tree instead of when he was himself." Poor little guy.

"I don't have any problem with him," he said quickly. "No need to cancel." Imagine the damage that would do, Summer! "You know I prefer staying here anyway. Maybe he just needs someone to be kind to him so he'll realize we all mean it and he's nothing to fear here."

"Once he realized I wasn't just messing with him and that I really wasn't going to, like, murder him if he failed," Summer mused, "he was pretty grateful. Like....really grateful. He kept trying to give me stuff, and I was all, no, dude, I give you money in exchange for goods and services, but, I mean, okay, fine, if you're going to insist, I could use a new pair of flats and maybe a nice new spring floral top before it's entirely out of season...."

What?

But then Summer started to look a little...worried.

"You don't....you don't think he's actually going to fuck it up, though, do you? Should I have a back up plan? I'm totally going to have a back up plan."

"I think he'll do fine," Stark said with a little more confidence than he actually felt. "I'm not sure he would let himself not. Did you buy clothes too? Did you get yourself a new dress from there?"

Would he get to see it in pictures beforehand?

Summer was a woman who had just enticed everyone to make sandwiches and omelets out of Cadbury Creme Eggs. She was so far beyond weird, you might as well say it looped back around to normal, right? Whatever that was.
