Luke's diner, Saturday
Miguel was awake. This was equally because of good coffee and annoying children.
One of which he was attempting to escape here. It remained to be seen how effective that would be.
The cook was cheerfully showing an excited pre-teen how to make burgers on the grill. Whatever.
Today's specials:
Peanut butter and jelly french toast
Cheeseburgers (regular or vegan)
Chocolate chip milkshakes
Luke's was open!

It did not help that Rosa had brought RoboCop with her. If Tightpants thought he could get out of dealing with this just because he had a job on Saturday, he was sorely mistaken.
RC himself was definitely giving the place a good look-over before joining his mom at the counter, but it was hard to tell, as he pushed his sunglasses back up, whether or not the inspection passed his approval.

What? Look, if this was his and Rosa's kid, he'd probably been drinking the stuff in his sippy cups.
"Burger, I'm guessing?"

"Don't do it, Dad!" RoboCop's eyes were wide behind his sunglasses. "You wouldn't!"

"I'm going to watch them make it," he decided, "just to make sure."

Miguel put in the order for Rosa's burger and RC's vegan burger. Let him deal with it.
He took a drink of his own coffee and smirked back at Rosa. "Kid really leans into his namesake, doesn't he?"
no subject
"He's totally switching that vegan burger out with mine, isn't he?" She lifted her coffee, with a nod that looked almost like approval. "He's not too bad, actually. For a kid."

He glanced after him, a bit unsure. "Any signs of spidery things yet?"
