Community Center Class: Baked Baking [Tuesday 4/18]
"Throughout this class," said Summer, the space on the table in front of her startlingly clear, especially with how cluttered it had been throughout the semester with hints of what horrific or fascinating food combinations awaited them, "we've explored all sort of different flavors, food types, and other munchies-inspired recipes to really get you thinking about some new perspectives on foods."
Sure, we'll call it that.
"But this week, as it's our last class," she continued, "we really thought we'd see what sorts of good ideas and bad decisions you could make on your own."
"I’d prefer the good ideas to the bad decisions,” Stark said, very mildly. “No spaghetti in donuts, please.”
Of course, now he’d gone and put that idea into their heads. What could go wrong?
“Just…try something new, if you like. Or something you’ve made before. Or both,” Stark suggested. “Try and make this a good ending. Please?”

And, maybe with a little help to make sure he picked out Gladio's favorite flavors from the pantry of ingredients, he set to work, and, by the end of the class, he'll be able to treat the class to some Cup NoodleTM Cacio e Pepe balls, with plenty leftover to take home with him.

What? You couldn't prove she was going to put them in a donut. Not yet, at least.

Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
Sure, he could definitely guess and he knew her well enough that it would be a very educated guess, but technically speaking....

Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"By the way," she stated, diving into a nice subject change as if that could distract from the fact that, yes, that was a deep fryer she was pulling out now, "did you ever find out if Cass' name was short for anything?"
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
He eyed the fryer and sighed.
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"Well," she informed him, "I did find out."
And by the sound of it, and the hand on her hip, she was still mad about it, too.
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
He was still thoroughly charmed their son was named after jello, yes.
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
Oh, the tiny ginger betrayal!
"Ziya did have a lot of chocolate with her when she left. And jello. What did you learn? Was it the stars?"
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
She'd give him a pass on that one, though, considering...And, besides, that wasn't the real issue here.
"And no," she said, now reminded that she was feeling indignant about the whole thing. "It wasn't the stars. It was fucking Casserole."
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"Why would you... or we... or I? Why would anyone..."
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
And it was true. She thought it was hilarious.
But, recalling up the conversation she'd had earlier that day with Annie, she added a resolute, "I should really not be allowed to name things."
Children, Summer. They were children.
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
It fit. And it was funny. In fact, Stark might have let out something that sounded like a giggle.
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"I can only assume you signed off on it, too," Summer pointed out, in defiance of anything that might suggest that it wouldn't take much for her to sway him on pretty much anything, this very class the case in point. "You're just as culpable in this."
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"I'm sure I agreed. But it wouldn't have been my idea!"
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"Well, I mean," said Summer, "obviously not. Ideas," both terrible and brilliant, and this one, she was starting to feel, really straddled the line between the two of them, "are much more my wheelhouse."
But speaking of terrible, brilliant ideas, the water was boiling, so in went the pasta, and someone had some dough to get started on.
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"But maybe it's better not to..."

Smarter than someone who, say, might have just sort of volunteered himself to eat spaghetti donuts.
"She does have some odd ideas about food. They may be genetic."
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"It might be," Stark allowed. "But perhaps it's both?"
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
"Maybe some day," she said, "some brainiac can figure out how to isolate a Weird Food gene, but I don't think the science is quite there yet, so I'm sticking with questionable life choices and poor impulse control."
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
She frowned, though, somewhat doubtfully.
"Probably."
Was she just drawing a blank on specific examples right now?
"I'd be shocked if I haven't at least a few times...."
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
Was this a terrible conversation to have during a cooking class?
Re: Talk to the Teachers - BB [4/18]
Stark was, instead, looking at some of the leftover Easter candy (of course there was still more) speculatively.
