Nancy had not, actually, been visited by any kids this weekend. When she'd heard about it, a little piece of her wondered whether she'd done something wrong, and why hadn't she gotten a whole bunch of little kidlets? It wasn't like she wasn't good with kids, and Steve had said that whole thing about taking a whole passle of Harringtons on a trip someday, and –
You know, now that she was thinking like that…maybe that was why she hadn't had any kids this weekend. The idea of children with Steve (and the guilty idea that followed, that she had jumped to that before kids with Jonathan) sent a sad little twinge through her chest that kept her concentrating on her actual work for most of the day, just so she didn't have to think about it more.
