Graham had a sloth with him at the store today!

But not just any sloth, of course! This sloth was his roommate, because that was just a thing that happened around here sometimes! Having Gray turn into a sloth in the room the other day was definitely something Graham had taken fully into stride by now, and, if anything, having Gray as a sloth was a good lesson in...patience, and taking his time (a lot of time) whenever doing anything with him in his current state.

Including playing games at the shop, which worked out great. Because while Graham was waiting for Gray to figure out and finish his moves and not being much of a Fast Sloth at all, he could do a little work around the store here and there, and, by the time he finished with something, he'd come back, and Gray would just be finishing his turn.

Or Gray would have fallen asleep.

Actually, that was what happened most of the time. But hey! They got in a good maybe five, ten minutes of gameplay! And it meant Graham managed to actually be productive around the store in the meantime!

"It's Friday and the end of the semester and we should celebrate!" Charlie announced as she breezed into the emporium.

And Graham might have been worried about that announcement disturbing the sloth that had fallen asleep clinging to the cardboard cutout of a displacer beast were it not for the fact that the sloth was Gray and therefore would probably sleep through the store being attacked by actual displacer beasts.

"It is Friday and the end of the semester!" Graham agreed. "And we should celebrate! But Charlie!"

His response was more eager grins and excitement than actual distress or concern.

"How??"

"I haven't thought that far in advance," Charlie admitted, "Just that we should!"

"Well, then," Graham's grin broadened, "I guess we'll just have to figure something out, won't we? First thing that comes to mind, of course, is that we could throw some kind of party..."

"Oooh! We could!" Charlie said. "Maybe a pool party? Or one on the rooftop?"

"Oooooh, we did talk about a pool party that one time!" Graham recalled eagerly. "That could be pretty great! But so would a rooftop party! Maybe we could do both? One for celebrating the end of this semester, and one for celebrating the start of the next one!"

"Two parties is always better than one," Charlie said reasonably. "I'm all in!"

Graham was just going to take a moment to preen a little proudly, that his clever solution to this choice would be so well received.

"Now the real question, then," he mused, "is which is which, and when?"

"A pool party would be great for a weekend thing maybe. And a roof party is great at night under the stars," Charlie said thoughtfully. "How soon do you think we could do one and get people to come? I mean it could even be during the week next week if we wanted, right?"

"At this point, it can pretty much be whenever, right?" Graham reasoned. "The skyyyyyyy's," his hands swept out in front of him, fingers splayed, "the limit! Well, I guess except for when the graduation happens, we probably shouldn't do it then."

"True, that might cut down on the people coming over," Charlie agreed. "So, not graduation day."

"Hmmmm." Graham's brow furrowed a little, as he thought about it some more. "We could maybe do one on Monday. A little unconventional, sure, but, hear me out...Monday is when we would have gone back to classes, but, since we have no classes, boom! Party instead! Eh?"

He looked at Charlie eagerly, to see her response to this clearly inspired logic.

"Monday is a good day," Charlie said. "Let's us have a weekend to veg and then, right, boom! Party!"

"Perfect!" said Graham, with a victorious pump of his fist. "Now....poolside or rooftop first? Underground or well above it?"

"I have to say, I'm really feeling a pool party," Charlie said. "Warm water, cute bathing suits, we can pretend we're in a warm foreign country..."

"Oooh, like Tanalore!"

Probably not what Charlie meant, Graham, but sure. It was a warm foreign country all the same.

"We can do fruity drinks in coconuts! With the little umbrellas!"

"And pizza!" Because, you know, pizza.

"Oooh, the kind with pineapple?" asked Graham, way more excited about that prospect than even the mode die-hard of Hawaiian pizza devotees. "To fit in with the theme!"

"Yes! As well as a bunch of other kinds for those who prefer non-pineappled pizza," Charlie said with a smile. "And maybe a bunch of Chinese appetizers because finger food is fun and Chinese appetizers are delicious."
