They seemed to be having a bit of a dove problem at the store. At least, that's what Wanda would call a bunch of nesting doves up in the higher shelves. She knew she could just make them disappear with a wave of her hand but that's not how she was doing things these days. So shooing them away with a broom it was.

And, yes, she was aware she looked like a jackass.

"Do I want to ask?" Steve asked, tilting his head at the broom and then the birds.

"Probably not," Wanda said, sounding a little strained as she tried to wave the broom at the birds again. "I don't know how doves got in here. But I guess they're sort of magic-y. In a top hat and wand kind of way."

"Guys used to pull them out of handkerchiefs down the shore," Steve said, nodding.

If only he'd met Dr. Strange to ask him to do that...

"Yeah, we're not that kind of magic shop," Wanda said. "Unless Scott got new inventory while I was gone. I think he's into that kind of magic."

"I can see that," Steve admitted with a grin. "The kids' birthday parties stuff."

[scarlet_chaos]

"I think it's pretty cute," Wanda admitted. "No way I can do any sleight of hand stuff. I'd be a terrible thief."

"Well, I can't be too sad to hear that," Steve teased. "I'd rather your job be on the correct side of the law."

[scarlet_chaos]

"Well I've always walked a fine line when it came to that, haven't I?" Wanda said lightly. "But I'm not planning on becoming a cat burglar any time soon, I promise."

"...I actually don't know why they call them cat burglars if they're not stealing cats."

"Me either," Steve admitted. "Maybe because they wore catsuits? Tight clothing, not ears."

[scarlet_chaos]

"Oh. Yeah. That makes sense," she said, making a face. "I think I'm done with my super tight clothing era, so we definitely don't need to worry about that."

As long as Tony was designing his suits, Steve was never going to be entirely out of his super tight clothing era.

"Yeah, me too."

Ignore the smedium t-shirt today?

There was a definitely a glance at the shirt Steve was wearing, but Wanda didn't call him out on it.

"You don't know anything about birds, do you?" she asked. "Or know, like, a bird-themed superhero who wants some doves?"

Steve grinned impishly. "I do know a Falcon--"

There was no world where Sam needed doves, and yet...

Wanda snorted. "I've met him. Doesn't strike me as a bird person."

"But he has a drone he pretends is a bird," Steve countered. "Could be a cry for companionship."

"...does he or she have a name?" As if Wanda Maximoff should be mocking someone for pretending fake things were real, but here we were.

"His name is Redwing," Steve said, shaking his head. "Sam thinks he's cute."
