The Magpie Emporium; Friday [05/12].

This first week of the summer session had been great, and Graham was very eager to get to the shop for his shift that day so that he could tell Little Bot and Saffron allllll about it!

Whether or not either of them cared about his excited ramblings again this week was probably up for debate, but he wasn't about to let something like disinterest ever stop him from telling a story!

And he made sure to work while he talked, too, so he was multitasking, although the storytelling definitely took over and he wound up just having to redo most of the work, because he definitely ended up putting things on the wrong shelves and, in a few instances, just making more work for himself. But it was fiiiiine.

The Magpie Emporium is open!

Because the store clerk is clearly in the middle of an epic story about lava (or maybe loot!), even though it seems very few things are actually where you'd expect them to be at the moment. He's working on fixing it, though!

Congratulations! You managed to catch him in a breath between ramblings! Better take advantage of it and snag his attention while you can!

"Good morning, my prince of lava!" Charlie said cheerfully. "That was an awesome death scene yesterday!"

"Oooooh, Prince of Lava," Graham's grin was lopsided and his shoulders straightened with pride. "I like that! It's really got a nice...flow..." Pause for expected appreciation for his cleverness, "...doesn't it? And thank you!"

He took a moment, to meet that compliment with the appreciative bow and wave of his hand that it deserved. "As the first to claim such an honorable way to go, I had to really make sure it counted! How did you fare? I was too busy being dead to really see much else."

Sure, he could have just gotten up and gotten out, but why dispel the illusion so soon?

"I think that's magmanificent," Charlie said with a grin. "And I did okay. Didn't make it as far as Professor Skywalker, but only four people made it farther than me. It was super funny when Professor Rogers fell in right after you!"

"Oh, really?" asked Graham, with a laugh. "Oh, that's great! Zounds, I'm really going to have to try and make it further next time, that would have been great to see!"

From a not-dead-yet perspective, anyway.

He chuckled a little more just thinking about it, shaking his head. "That class is going to be really great, I can just tell! Maybe we'll have the chance to work together, too! Team up for better success sometimes!"

"It was awesome, but you were busy doing your amazing death scene," Charlie said. "And yes! Team Graham and Charlie would be awesome!"

"Next week maybe?" Graham offered. "We might not know what they'll throw at us, but, together? I'm sure we can make it to the end!"

"I am all in, my friend," Charlie offered him a high five. "Lava-Jello buddies all the way!"

Graham's hand enthusiastically met Charlie's with a laugh, and he followed it up with a pump of his fist. "Lava-jello Champions!" he tried. "Oooh! Jellava Champions! I like the sound of that one!"

"Lello?" Charlie suggested with a laugh. "Maybe Lello-Jalava champions! Whichever it is, it's awesome."

"That's true," Graham agreed, bobbing his head with an important nod. "If we're involved, awesome is pretty much a guarantee."

He flashed Charlie grin before tilting his head thoughtfully. "What else've you got that's pretty awesome? I mean, besides Loot and Lava, since we've got those ones together."

"Pizza!" Charlie said. "That is going to be an amazing class. I'm surprised you didn't sign up for that one."

Raiden, pizza, what a way to start a Monday!

Guillermo had been inspired with his pizza class on Monday to try his hand at making a couple of homemade pizzas, in addition to his normal containers of empanadas and churros, he had made a pepperoni and a supreme pizza.

“Hi,” he smiled brightly as he came round to drop off his food, “I have the snacks for tonight,”

"Is that pizza?" asked Graham, pulling up at full attention as his nostrils caught a wave of that undeniable aroma, his eyes wide and excited.

And then, realizing that he was sort of letting the pizza get in the way of, well, common decent manners, he chuckled a little sheepishly before heading over to help Guillermo out with the food. "I mean....hi, Guillermo. Sorry. I got a little excited there!"

And the rumble from his stomach, clearly, was also pretty thrilled by this thrilling turn of events.

“It is pizza,” Guillermo said brightly, grateful for the help with the food, “I was inspired with my pizza class on Monday and thought I’d try something different,”

"Zoooounds," said Graham, "you got into that one? I wanted to take that one, but for some reason, couldn't! Is it great, though? I bet it's great. I mean, it's pizza! How could it not be? But if you're taking it, and it's inspiring you to bring pizzas on Fridays, then it's almost like I won't even need to take the class, right?"

“Oh Im sorry you missed our, that would have been amazing if you’d been in the class, it’s been pretty great so far,” Guillermo said shyly, “I haven’t had much experience with cooking pizza but hopefully I did okay,” he paused, “you know, if you’d like to I could teach you how to make pizza? It wouldn’t quite like being in the class but I could …um teach you if you’d like?”

"Yeah?" asked Graham. "That'd be great! I'd love to learn! And you're a great teacher, too, Guillermo! I mean, granted, I don't really remember how to make empanadas from that time we made them, but I do remember that I enjoyed learning how to make them! We should definitely do that some time!"

Guillermo smiled brightly at that, “I’d love to teach you how to make pizza and we could make empanadas again, I liked teaching you that time as well, we could definitely do it again maybe sometime during the week?” he suggested shyly.

Should there be concerns about a new group of gremlins coming in during the morning to poke a little at some Monster of the Week?

Snacks, Graham. You should really just call it pre-game snacks.

There was, however, a mysterious plate of brookies waiting for them on the table when Graham went up to get set up for the session.

Which maybe should have been suspicious, but Graham was not naturally inclined to doubt free mysterious food when it presented itself....yet.

Libby was there, of course, with the usual veggies and other healthy snacks.

Try and contain your shock and surprise!

Oh, there was no containing this amount of shock and surprise! Truly!

"Hey, Libby," said Graham, with a wave of his hand in greeting. "Had a good first week?"

Jo arrived with her usual boxes and sweets, ready for their session, “hello,” she smiled brightly as she arrived.

Vi had brought donuts, because it just seemed like a donut kind of evening.

"Alright, everyone," said Graham, grinning around the table as he got things started, finally, for the evening, "where we last left off, we had decided on watches as we rest, with Esthrana taking the first one and Amenken taking the second one. So, with everyone else settling in and resting to recover from your skirmish with the bandits, Libby? Roll for me a d100, please."

He sounded particularly pleased at this, since it was the first time pulling out a nice juicy random encounters list!

Oooh, a d100! That was exciting, and Libby grinned back at Graham before taking a moment to pluck out her d10s and give them a toss.

"Five!" she reported happily, before wondering if having it so close to one end of the range was going to mean something really bad or something really big....or something really, really underwhelming.

"Five," Graham repeated, and at least he didn't have to flip through too many pages of notes to get to that one. He trailed his finger down his list before he located it, and he laughed a little when he read it.

"Okay, perfect, hold on a moment...."

He took a moment to pull out his phone and quickly look something up, getting a bigger grin on his face, as he grabbed some scratch paper and quickly scribbled something down.

"Belle?" he asked, folding the paper in half to hide what it said and handing it over to her, putting a finger to his lips to signal that she should read it with the utmost secrecy.

Belle reached for the paper eagerly, unfolded it carefully, and read it to herself before giving Graham a conspiratorial grin.

"Two, please!"

Graham nodded, trying to look very neutral about this choice, but he was having a hard time keeping the grin off his face. "Two it is," he decreed. "Your turn to roll a d100!"

Ooh, a roll! How exciting!

"Eighty," Belle declared after the dice stopped.

She was very eager to find out what this would mean.

Graham nodded again and consulted another list, though he frowned slightly, scratching his head for a moment. Then he rubbed his chin for a few moments more before nodding again, and taking to his notes again, scribbling something down and passing it over to Belle once more.
