Atlas Gym; Tuesday [05/16].

A big part of Gladio's job used to be team building and morale. He wasn't always good at it; in fact, there were times were he was absolutely garbage at it, but he figured he could bring a little bit of that to the staff at the gym, starting with a little survey to get an idea of what machine or equipment they liked best or preferred, and so a small portion of his day was spent in the office, sorting through the results and figuring out how to best use that data.

Although, really, now he just sort of wanted to give a shoutout to the person who just chose the vending machines in the lobby.

Cautiously still celebrating Intergalactic Turtleneck Day did not mean sacrificing her weekly cute workout gear fashion show! Summer came swanning in as usual, this time in something with turquoise (ISH), with her usual chirpy, sing-song greeting to Gladio on her way to get good and warmed up before he inevitably made her feel like maybe corporeal bodies were a mistake, actually with their training session for that day.

Nell was here for a quick workout before heading to work and the last of her preparations for tonight.

And even though they'd be seeing each other later for baseball night, it would be remiss of Gladio to not at least offer a nod and a greeting. "Nell," he said. "'Morning. How's it going?"

Marc got to the gym around his usual time. Hitting the punching bags felt like the right thing for this morning. At least as a place to start.

The punching bags were never really a bad place to start, really. And Marc had a little bit of time to work them before Gladio came around with a nod of greeting and a gold star being offered out. "Marc."

"Hey," Marc said. He got his water bottle to put the sticker on. "How's it going?"

Gladio shrugged a little. "It's going."

And, considering how their conversation last week had gone, he considered just sort of leaving it at that, but it really wasn't his style, and, well, with Nell's thing later, anyway...

"So," he offered, "baseball tonight, huh?"

"You're going to that too, huh?" Marc asked, since Nell had mentioned it in the invite she left him.

Stark was here for another week. If Summer happened to be there at the same time he would be giving her and her outfit a very pleased grin. If Summer wasn't there at the time he'd just be pretending not to know anything about the fading mark on his own neck, thank you.

In either case he was heading for the elliptical to start things off.

"Hey, Stark," Gladio offered a lift of his chin and a notch of his hand in greeting when he spotted him. "Good to see you."

Not only was it good to see anyone keeping up a good, consistent good routine, but it was also good to see that Stark was starting to figure out what worked for him enough to have a clear idea of where he wanted to start that day, too. You loved to see it.

Gladio shrugged a little, but a faint grin accompanied it. "It was nice of her to invite me," he said, "and it'll be good, I think, hanging out outside the gym a little."

"Good for her to be hanging out with people too," Marc said. Did he mean Gladio type people specifically? Always hard to tell with Marc.

There was a side-eye being slid your way, Marc, but the grin didn't falter, and it came with a faint, wry huff.

"Yeah," he said. "Good for her."

He wasn't going to let that sit there for too long, though, before adding, "Didn't know you were a fan of baseball."

What with last week, he'd been under the impression Marc wasn't a fan of anything, after all.

Hypocrisy and double standards? In Marc Spector? Never!

Marc shrugged. "I keep an eye on it. Football too. Something to pass the time."

Plus the Chicago teams thoughtfully had logos that looked like crescent moons if you squinted. But that was probably a coincidence. Marc had grown up in Chicago after all.

"Morning, Gladio," Stark said with an answering wave.

"Any suggestions on else to do after this? There are still machines I have no idea what they're for. But I like this one to start with."

It was a nice way to ease into things!

Perish the thought!

Gladio's thoughtful grunt seemed to maintain some of the mild casual disinterest of that shrug.

"The Cubs, right?" he checked. "Chicago?"

They were easy and effective and just really smart design, honestly, from a low-key workout perspective!

Gladio considered a moment, knowing they'd talked a lot about working the core and that he'd be mostly taking care of arm day over at the forge, before just sort of shrugging a little.

"Maybe one that's really got you curious?" he offered, since even he had to admit, to an untrained eye, he could see how some of this stuff looked less like exercise equipment and more like torture devices.

(Insert Prompto's unsolicited commentary in his head about them being the same thing).

"Right," Marc said. "Been weird trying to follow things here. I'm two years in the future back home. But easy enough to root for the home team in whatever dimension, I guess."

Stark was intimately familiar with at least one actual torture machine and it didn't resemble anything in this gym, thankfully

"The rowing machine looks interesting," Stark said after a little consideration. "I'm not sure I've ever rowed anything except maybe at Anakin's nonsense."

"Probably takes a little surprise out of the end results," Gladio noted, "if anything."

"Well, there you go," said Gladio. "Good way to get prepared for the next time, then, although it's not quite the same thing. Good core work, though, with those rowers, and I know that's one of your focuses."

And as it just so happened, Summer was still there at the same time. What? You think she'd be dropping all this cash on these outfits and not getting as much mileage as she could out of them when she did wear them in? She didn't even have a disgusting food class to prepare for on Tuesdays anymore!

So it looked like there's be two sing-song greetings being thrown out into the gym that day.

"Hiiiii, Staaaaark."

Tossing her water bottle into the holder on the elliptical next to his? Don't mind if she did!

"I'm back to silver stars," Steve said with a sigh, "but in my defense, I needed to stop a bomb before the wedding."

Gladio would understand, right?

"You said a stronger core helps with other things, didn't you?"

Maybe someone in the gym would appreciate Stark working his core!

Gladio definitely understood; he'd pretty much expected this sort of thing, after all.

Still had to reset the progress, of course, but McGarrett would understand that, right? At least Gladio's faint smile was understanding and empathetic.

"Japanese mafia related?" he guessed.
