When Summer came into the bar that evening for her shift, the zombie band, Tino, and the mechanical bull in the back room were all covered in silly string.

No, she was absolutely not going to ask.

Which meant Tino would be pouting at her the whole night, because he very clearly wanted her to ask, but that just solidified her conviction that the best thing she could possibly do right now is never, ever ask.

She thought about putting up a sign, even, requesting that her patrons also not ask, but she figured that would only inspire them all to ask.

Just don't do it, guys. Make smart choices.

The silly string is clearly not hindering the band's performance abilities.

Tino clearly wants you to ask about the silly string. Summer will side-eye you so hard if you do, though.

You might have to clear some silly string from the tables, though. Or just drink around it.

The ring of silly string circling the floor around the stripper pole might suggest that an Attempt Was Made.

Me, at this post in general:

Steven came by Caritas a little later than his usual but there all the same. He studied the list of shots thoughtfully.

“Good evening, Miss Smith,” Watts greeted. As was to be expected when it came to him, he did not ask about the silly string.

“Hello, y-“ Watts began as he spotted Steven. Unfortunately, his greeting was cut short as he lost his balance- perhaps due to slipping on some errant pieces of silly string- and was sent careening in Steven’s general direction.

Steven's attempt at a similar greeting was cut short by the stumble. He quickly tried to catch Llewellyn before he fell. Not as quickly or deftly as if he'd been in the suit, but a good attempt for his human limitations regardless.

"Llew! Are you all right?"

"Hiiiiiii, Steven!" Summer sang out when she drifted over to his spot at the bar. "The usual?"

And that was definitely something Summer would greatly appreciate about Watts, yes.

"Good evening, Detective Watts," she chirped right back with a smile and almost an eagerness to see what sort of dumb wine specification he had this time around. "What can we get for you tonight?"

"Yes, please," Steven said. He smiled at her. "You seem chipper today. Having a good night?"

"A lot better night than I was having this time last week, anyway," Summer said with a faint grin. "And ~~assuming Anakin wasn't a dirty, lying double crosser who broke his promises, anyway~~ it was ~~presumably maybe who even knoooows~~ nice to actually get to go to the Wednesday activities this week."

She poured the pint, that was the easy part, and set it in front of Steven, and then quirked a speculative brow at him.

"Now," she said, "here's the real question: when there's two vegan shots, does that mean going broke for both, or just stick to one?"

"Just the one I think," Steven said, since unlike Marc he was a lightweight. "But I was wondering which one to try. The lemon looks refreshing but the bean sounds interesting. Don't think I've had anything like that before. Not as a jelly."

And successful, too! At least, he’d managed to keep Watts from completely falling over.

“Aside from my dignity.”

"Oh dear," Steven said, sympathetically. He brushed off Llewellyn's coat even though it didn't strictly need it. "How can I help you feel better?"

"The mung bean itself is sort of what makes the jelly," Summer offered, looking terribly proud of herself. "I came across it when I was looking for something to do with green beans, and decided I definitely had to give it a try. It'll probably be a bit different, but I would be interested to hear your thoughts. And if it's really terrible, you could always just use the lemon drop as a chaser-slash-palatte cleanser."

"Let's give that a go then," Steven said. "It can be an adventure!"

You'd think with having met gods and going to the afterlife Steven's bar for what counted as an adventure would be higher, but nope.

You know what? Trying the Last Shot^TM on the Specials Board was an Adventure. If it wasn't, then Summer was clearly slacking.

And so, lo and behold, Steven also had a nice mung bean jello shot before him to also try at his leisure.

"Good answer," she said. "Gotta love the adventurous spirit. May you truly not regret it."

Summer's smile, though, seemed to suggest that she kind of hoped he maybe regretted it a little bit.

"How's your week been, Steven?"

“Siegerrebe. Chaberton Estate, if you please.”

Yes, a white wine tonight.

Don't let the dry look Summer was giving you fool you, Watts. She was actually very amused and very appreciative of the challenge, but still...

A brow lifted.

"Could you maybe spell that one for me, maybe?" she asked, with the tone of someone who just might be suggesting he could have totally just made that word up.

Stark had gone home after Anakin's nonsense in the park and showered. Very thoroughly. And he'd cleaned his mask off very thoroughly as well. He didn't want any of what had been on that pole to remain on his person.

"Did you enjoy yourself in the park?" he asked when he approached the bar. "Hello, Summer."

Watts stared back at her for a beat or two, perhaps contemplating if she was serious in her request.

Apparently deciding that she must be, Watts dutifully rattled off the spelling of that particular varietal.

“I’ve an idea or two in mind,” Watts said. “Though they cannot be immediately put into action.”

Oh, Summer had been dead serious about spelling it. If he couldn't actually spell it, she was planning to use that as a defense that if he couldn't even spell it, she shouldn't be expected to serve it.

She was, however, very grateful to have been spared trying to explain that logic to Watts, and she grinned, nodding approvingly, and then set to the task of actually finding this alleged wine.

"So," she asked, as the hunt began, "how've you been, Detective?"
