Plant Parenthood; Thursday [05/25].
Eleanor was a little distracted, that day when she came in for her second week at her new job; she'd received a letter from her sister that week, giving her an update on the family and how they'd found a new place....still in Maine, so a bit of a journey if she were to come visit, but it was nice and quiet and still by the sea, far enough from Winterport that they didn't have to worry about much fallout from what had happened. The house was smaller, of course, but they could work on that. No word from Arthur, although Luma suspected that the ease in which they'd managed to find a place had his fingerprints all over it. No point in speculating, though, and Rhys was...
...well, he wasn't worse, she said, which made Eleanor's heart just drop to her feet, but that was at least...something.
So she was distracted, trying to think of what to write back with. Even with a family full of strange things, with all the oddness they'd experienced, she had a feeling Luma wouldn't believe half the things she'd have to say about this place. So she thought about it, she jotted down a few starts and lines, and tried to dive a little deeper into her botany book, but the focus wasn't there, and she was mostly just daydreaming about hitting up the beach once she was out and seeing if she couldn't wash away some of this distracted feeling with a swim.
