Chilly Boulder, Thursday after classes
Stark had won in the Floor is Lava this morning. Stark had won at paintball this afternoon. More importantly, Stark had beaten Anakin in both classes. Stark's day, so far, was wonderful.
And his day promised to get better. After Stark's second victory Summer had suggested celebrating somewhere. They'd had drinks last night to celebrate her performance at the Summer Games, after all, so it only made sense to celebrate Stark's wins today.
Naturally, Stark had overthought this before being not-so-gently reminded that the day was only so long so he needed to make a decision. He'd decided on celebratory ice cream and now was trying to decide on what to order.
"We could share something?" he suggested to Summer as he looked at the menu. "Or each get different things. Maybe we could try both then?"
[expecting the gently modded redhead for this absolutely-not-a-date ice cream excursion but this is also a very open post! Others in search of frozen desserts are very welcome!]

So the fact that he decided he just wanted to go get ice cream?
Kind of adorable, actually.
"We are both grown ass adults, Stark," she reminded him. "I think we can both get our own things."

"We are. I just... sometimes sharing is nice." He was planning on a large sundae with an absurd number of toppings on it that could absolutely be shared a little if someone else wanted.
"A browmie sundae," he told the bored looking teenager behind the counter. "With chocolate chip ice cream and hot fudge and peanut butter sauce and marshmallow and cherry syrup and extra whipped cream and cherries and rainbow sprinkles. Please."
He turned back to Summer. "And you?"
no subject
"I take it you guys are still not doing flies?"
The teenager rolled their eyes and Summer rolled hers right back. "Look, I can't help it if your flavor profiles are still tragically stuck in a dimension that clearly has never been taken over by giant space spiders. I'm telling you, it's way better than it sounds. But, whatever, I'll take strawberry. With rainbow sprinkles and peanuts in a chocolate waffle cone, pleeeaaasssee."
A beat.
"And chocolate covered raisins."
Which were not the same, but close enough.

The teenager behind the counter gave him a very odd look for the suggestion but then went back to preparing their orders.
"I wonder if I should have eaten something for lunch besides this today," he said, half to himself as he took the sundae and headed to a table once he thought Summer was ready. "But this can be lunch and dinner."

But she was giving Stark a bit of a withering look as she licked at her ice cream cone while following him to the table.
"But have you seriously not eaten any..." A brief pause, for a very significant distinction, "food...since yesterday?"
no subject
"I didn't have any food for breakfast," he confirmed. He ducked his head then grinned a little shyly. "But you know that."
no subject
And she ate a little bit more of her own.
"At least I got strawberry, so I can make the argument for having fruit."

"But you did win both your classes today," she added, eventually, "so it's allowed. You probably should eat something vaguely healthy at some point, though."

Perhaps there was a way someone could ensure he ate breakfast.
"Right now I'd rather eat other things. This is good. Would you like a bite?"

His favorite person to try new things with, really.
"Thank you." He slid the sundae toward Summer, then started to reach for her cone. He stopped himself and instead leaned forward over the table so he could reach the cone with his mouth.
Yes. Summer did essentially have him eating out of the palm of her hand.

But then where would she be? Broken trust and depriving herself of more ice cream.
Although she certainly would help with the clean-up.
"How is it?" she asked. "Good?"
no subject
"Would you like some of mine? There's plenty of whipped cream if you just want that."
