Luke's Diner; Tuesday [06/13].
Well, now, it would see that Ignis was back behind the counter again, and perhaps not a moment too soon, as even he was starting to get a little bit restless in his unintentional hermitage and was incredibly pleased that the renovations were finally finished. And while he could not speak much as to how the new place looked, he did feel as though there was a good openness and flow that he appreciated, especially after spending a good deal of time on his days off just swing by to get used to the new layout so that, by the time his shift did roll around, he could move about with confidence and easy and, most importantly, familiarity.
And, even though he mostly had to take the staff's word for it, he appreciated the opportunity to maybe make his specials on his first day back reflect the new feel of the place.
Today's Specials
Vegan 'After Beach' Burger
BBQ Potato Salad
Strawberry Watermelon Shortcake
Luke's is open!

“Good afternoon, Mr. Scientia,” he greeted cheerfully as he made his way through the doors.

"Hmmm," he managed. "Yes. The decor is- certainly a change. Not that I suspect that matters to you as much as the layout of the place."

And he smiled a bit with Watts' observations. "There is a much different...flow to the place, and I mean that in both layout and...well, I guess you might called it vibes. The presentation of a place can still have a deeply impactful influence on the feel of it, even without having to see it. Something about it feels very...fitting, a little more casual, and already comfortable, despite the newness, and I suspect that will reflect greatly on the atmosphere moving forward."
And also give him a little bit of a challenge, which he appreciated, in trying to walk that delicate balance between the modest approach and his own taste for much finer things.
"But with all that said...what can we get for you today, Detective?"

"Well, I haven't been to the beach, but I'll give that burger on the specials board a try," he decided, after a moment's thought.

"So," he said, "there's been some time since your last diner visit. Any exciting news or events since then?"

"And I've been..." There was a hesitation, in not wanting to be exactly frank and open about something like that, but not wanting to be untruthful, either. "...using the unexpected time off for a bit of introspection, I suppose you could say, but keeping busy enough, between classes and my training with Gladio and Prompto. Mostly poking around the kitchen, so nothing too different there."

"And I'll admit, I did not initially actually take to cooking well, at first, if you'll believe it. But once I came to discover how much can be said through the simple act of preparing and sharing food, it became far less of a chore and something I found myself rather fond of doing."

There was hardly any point, if you were just cooking for yourself.
"And simple is fine. That just gives me extra room to experiment and perhaps expand upon it. Or the always enjoyable opportunity to appreciate something for the charm and effectiveness of its simplicity. Not everything needs to be overly complex to be impressive."
