A small pile of crumpled up papers was cluttering the counter in front of Eleanor that day, as she spent some of her idle time in between various tasks and tending to the plants with the tentative hope of not actually killing them just by being near them trying to write few letters back home. The one to her mother was fairly easy, talking about how she was enjoying the beaches and having the school being on island, she'd love it, if she ever had the chance to visit, but she was having trouble with her letter to Luma, because her descriptions of this place made it sound ridiculous, even when you were writing it to a werewolf whose sister could probably swallow the whole world if she tried. But even Luma's letter wasn't as difficult as the one she tried to write to Rhys.

Even if writing a letter to Rhys was probably pretty pointless right now, but there was a small part of Eleanor that wondered, if she managed to find the exact right thing to say, it would make everything better again.

At least she didn't have to worry about winding up just compelling what she wanted in written form, too.
