The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

"How about a Sleeping Beauty theme?" Lucifer inquired. "You know, beds, lining the walls, a spot of taffeta here and there..."

As always, Lucifer rambled. As always, Tiny ignored him.

However, this time he was ignoring Lucifer while working on another Lucifer project: an enormous glass of cotton candy martini, with an even larger tuft of cotton candy on top. It was quite literally the size of a cow.

"Something to think about," said Lucifer.

"What are we thinking about?" Duke asked as he ambled in.

Look! He was out in town two days in a row! He was so proud.

So was Lucifer! Or he would be, once it dawned on him.

"Redoing the club in a Sleeping Beauty theme," Lucifer said brightly. "Beds and all."

It was a terrible idea.

". . . This club?" Duke looked around. "Are you squabbling with the vampire again?"

"I'm just thinking about redecorating," Lucifer said.

Defensively.

"I mean, it sounds like you're thinking about taking a nap," Duke said with a chuckle, coming over to wrap his arms around Lucifer from behind. "Which . . . I mean, I can't argue with that. But 'Sleeping Beauty' is a terrible club theme."

"Unless people come here, get drunk, and want a rest," Lucifer said sagely.

Though, as he leaned into Duke's arms, he realized he did quite fancy a nap.

"So you want to theme the adult club on the island around something that most of modern Earth culture thinks of as a story for kids?" Duke shook his head and rested his chin on Lucifer's shoulder fondly. "I'm sure we can find a better excuse to fill this place with beds."

"You think adults don't need naps?" Honestly, Duke. Though, well. Lucifer always did find it harder to argue when he was getting hugged like this. "Though I suppose we could angle for orgies, but I'm not sure about the paperwork that would require."

Ahead of them, Tiny added another tuft of cotton candy to the giant cocktail.

Duke snorted. "I think adults love naps. I don't think adults are that into Sleeping Beauty."

"Adults love themes, especially if you can make them sexy," Lucifer countered.
