Plant Parenthood; Thursday [07/06].
When she wasn't trying to make herself useful by tidying up or praying that her care didn't lead to the untimely demise of all of Nell's plants or helping what few customers may or may not drift in, Eleanor spent a lot of her time trying to read through some of the Sylvia Plath she'd brought with her that day and winding up daydreaming instead.
Not about any dead people in her past, or anything like that, although there was certainly far too many recent entries in that category for her comfort. No, she wasn't dreaming about anything like that recently, but rather, something far more simple: a common room on a Sunday morning, and how nice it was to have some of her classmates come in and chat with her and have their own breakfasts and order food and the strange feeling of camaraderie that went with it, a feeling that was so fleeting and rare at her old school, and she really hoped that wasn't going to be the case at this school.
She should learn how to make something, like pancakes, maybe. She could probably do some pretty good scrambled eggs, too...
