Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Sometimes the warehouse was perfectly normal. (Normal for a warehouse with a giant obstacle course, palm trees for storage lockers, and woodchucks.) Today was one of those days!

Rey had set up the remotes for some lightsaber drills, in peace, so far only getting shot once and being annoyed about it.

"Rey?" Anakin called before coming inside. "Is it still pink?"

"It's very normal, i promise," she told him.

[sith_happened]

Anakin looked dubious but he poked his head inside and relaxed. "This looks right."

"Did you not trust me?" she asked, deselecting a bolt.

[sith_happened]

"I did," Anakin said. "I did not trust the island's sense of humor."

[thatwaslucky]

"Can't blame you," she decided. "Due to all the past evidence of why you shouldn't."

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned. "There's not a lot of trust left," he agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"And I'm sure next week will be something ridiculous again," she said.

[sith_happened]

Or maybe even earlier!

"Oh, no doubt," Anakin grumbled.

[thatwaslucky]

"I wonder if something weird would still happen if I went home for the week," Rey mused.

[sith_happened]

"Oh, I'm sure it would follow you," Anakin said, nodding.

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, no, I meant here!" Rey said quickly. "I really don't need to worry about that!"

Anakin laughed. "Oh. You're heading out again?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Thinking about it. I never go back enough," she said, pausing to stop the remotes.

[sith_happened]

Anakin smiled a little ruefully. "I never go back at all."

[thatwaslucky]

"You have reasons," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Wanted for xenocide, thought to be dead, etcetera," Anakin said, nodding.

[thatwaslucky]

"All the explaining that comes with that," she nodded.

[sith_happened]

"I really, really don't want to explain it," Anakin agreed. "I went to Jaina's universe only for Juliet's training and Jaina's wedding."

And he'd been bald. It was a whole thing.

"I'm guessing it's easier there being a different universe?" Rey said.

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "No one's really expecting me to be alive there."

[thatwaslucky]

"Every once in a while the multiverse is helpful," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Sometimes," Anakin said with a small smile. "I don't want to live entirely without access to caf."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'd bring it back," she assured him. It'd be cruel not to!

[sith_happened]

"I appreciate it," Anakin said, smiling again.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'll bring it back if I go this week," she promised.

[sith_happened]

Anakin meant to say "thank you" but it came out as "meow." Because he was now a cat.

"Oh," Rey said, taking a second to process what had just happened. "So much for normal, I guess."
