Atlas Gym; Tuesday [08/01].

Eager to get her sweat on and look cute while doing it, Summer actually breezed into the gym in her latest workout gear acquisition even earlier than usual, ready to flit over to Gladio and flip her ponytail a little extra as she subjected herself to whatever intense training he had ready for her. It was just one of those mornings, you know? She had energy, and it was much better spent on flirting and lifting than...well...we all knew what kinds of things happened when Summer had excess energy and nowhere to dump it.

But it would seem, after doing a little bit of a tour around the gym and having quite a bit of cute flitting going entirely to waste, that she couldn't track the big guy down. Which, you know, he wasn't hard to miss. So she went to find one of the other staff members instead to ask about it.

"Well," Summer frowned a little as she was informed that he actually hadn't come in yet, after taking a moment to check her phone for what time it actually was...was she just too early? It didn't seem like there was such a thing as 'too early' when it came to Gladio and the gym, "do you know when he will be in?"

The staff member shrugged and Summer sighed, exasperated, because who would totally appreciate her super cute outfit now??? There was clearly no one else who possibly could, except...

Summer blinked a little as she gave the staff member another moment of consideration, and then smiled, eyelashes fluttering just a little bit more. "So, I guess, in the meantime....do you offer any training? I mean, you're probably pretty good with cardio. You look like you'd be really good with cardio...."

Nell came in as usual and was startled to find that Gladio was not here and no one had heard from him. Maybe he'd been called in for some last minute babysitting or something?

She started her workout, but had a hard time focusing because she turned to look everytime she saw movement, thinking it must be him.

Even though Summer and Nell were usually in the gym at around the same time every Tuesday morning, there hadn't really been a lot of opportunity for interaction. But without the gym's premiere trainer and owner there to distract either of them at ant given point, there was at least a chance to offer up a small smile and a little chin-lift of greeting and workout babe solidarity.

Nell nodded back and smiled at her. "Hey, Summer. Seen Gladio around anywhere?"

And now Summer's smile went a little apologetic. "No," she admitted, "I haven't yet,sorry. They said he hasn't come in yet for the day. My theory is he got distracted by some Cup Noodle related incident, probably."

"That would be like him," Nell agreed with a little smile. "How have you been, Summer. I really don't think I've seen you except in passing since I came back last fall."

"And we definitely haven't talked much since then," Summer noted.

Almost as if someone else always seemed suck up all the brain energy on Tuesdays, or something. Rude.

"Which is a shame, when we see each other here practically every week! But I've been pretty well, thanks! How about you? Everything going well with your shop? Oh, and I didn't get a chance to thank you for stopping by Annie and Diego's baby shower on Friday! It was good to see you pop by."

So strange! Who knew?

"I'm well," Nell said. "And my shop is great. You should stop by sometime. I could whip up a lotion designed just for you."

She smiled and chuckled a little. "I'm not really good at big gatherings, though yours do seem to be amazing, but I wanted to at least bring a little something. Annie's an awesome nice person."

"Would 'designed just for me' pretty much just mean pink and sparkly?"

What? Summer knew her brand.

"And Annie is one of my most favorite people ever in the entire existence of everything," she stated firmly. "The more love for her and her babies, the better. I'm just glad she had a good time and everything went well."

"I could make the container pink and sparkly," Nell said with a smile, "but I was thinking more along the lines of you picking out a fragrance and type of lotion that you liked."

She couldn't help but by touched by Summer's love for her friend. "She does seem pretty awesome," Nell agreed. "And I think she's one of Gladio's favorite people as well, so that's good enough for me "

"Strawberry," Summer said, without missing a single beat and with a decisive nod. "And maybe something good for, you know, foot rubs and stuff. Ooh, or maybe just something really good for making my legs all smooooooth after I shave. And if you can make a lotion that helps with hangovers, I will literally buy a case.

"And Gladio does seem to have pretty good tastem"

Paaaaaaaause.

"In people."

Nell. Nell. Did you know that that man drank Cup Noodle soda, Nell? And liked it?? UNironically!

"Strawberry I can do," Nell said, "And foot rubs, smooth after shaving, I can do that too. As for hangovers, I'm not sure I have any lotion that could help you there, but I do have a tea that would help. I could even add strawberry essence to it."

She smiled at Summer. "So far I've liked the people he likes."

She did Summer. It was horrifying! But she'd still said she'd try some for him. Now that was... something heading towards some sort of four letter word. Not the one starting with f for heaven's sake, Summer. (Not yet, anyway.)

...food?

But, seriously, you should get on that, girl. A+, 10/10, would recommend.

"Strawberry wouldn't be necessary for the tea," Summer said, shaking her head a little. "But if it doesn't just taste like mulch, I'm sold.

"Actually," she added, a moment later, "I'd probably still take it if tasted like mulch and worked. I can get some really heinous hangovers sometimes, I need all the help I can get."

Someday, Summer, someday!

Nell laughed. "I can guarantee it won't taste like mulch," she assured her. "Which is not to say that I haven't deliberately made it taste bad for people who deserved it."

"Okay, then," said Summer with a faint snort, "now I know not to drink your tea if I ever piss you off. Althouuuugh..."

She now grinned at Nell a little, giving her a speculative once-over. "Now I'm really curious about what it takes to piss you off enough to mulch-tea someone."

She just seemed so quiet and demure! Discovering that the woman who practically looked like a nun right now compared to Summer's workout get-up had a vindictive streak had her attention.

Nell shrugged. "Someone who mistreats women or children? There were people I couldn't refuse to make teas for - and I'd never make something that would hurt someone else - but nothing says I have to go out of my way to make it tasty."

There was someone walking in right now who would very much appreciate that super cute outfit momentarily. Especially the zipper and the little cut-outs on the sides.

"Morning...," Stark started to say then realized he wasn't sure who he was talking to. "Oh. No Gladio?" Maybe he was in the office? Or somewhere else he wasn't immediately visible but Gladio was always visible!

"Hey, Stark," Summer called out from the treadmill she was working on where she had, in fact, learned many very helpful tips from the staff member that she definitely already knew but had pretended she did (you weren't fooling anyone, either, Summer, but she was had been clearly willing to just play along enough that phone numbers may have gotten involved). "But, yeah, apparently he hasn't been in yet today."

"That's odd, isn't it?" Stark asked, frowning a little. "He's always here Tuesdays. Isn't he?"

Yes, he was already walking towards the treadmills for no reason at all. Certainly not to better appreciate any very cute gym clothes. Or the person wearing them.

"I don't know," said Summer, with another shrug and a shift in the controls to make things a little less sweat intensive and a little more conversationally viable. "Maybe he got wind of a big blow-out sale at the Cup Noodle factory and hitched a portal to go stock up."

"He'd want more of it than he could carry," Stark pointed out as he stepped on to an open machine next to Summer.

Sorry not sorry, random gym employee.

"Or maybe he needed to make several trips to get enough of it and he'll come by later to refill his claw machine. How are you this morning?"

Besides flirty and looking great in new workout clothes, obviously.

It was Tuesday! Flirty and looking great in new workout clothes was the standard!

"He could still probably carry a lot, though," Summer pointed out, with a small hum of distraction and appreciation for that particular carrying capacity. "And I'm gooooood. How are you?"

Stark would be tempted to point out Summer looked great other days as well.

"I'm doing well," he said, glancing over at her with a smile because he heard that hum and that hum was correct. And because she did look very good in that outfit. "Better, now."

Good company and all that. And, um, exercise produced endorphins, right? Right.

Well, true, but that's why the in new workout clothes qualifier was important.

And even though Summer was pretty confident in what Stark meant by that, she still smiled somewhat innocently and cluelessly back. "Hard to not feel good with a good workout ahead of you, right? I just hope we don't miss out on our stickers."

She never even had the stickers before! But now that she was getting them, they, too, were important.

"The stickers are nice," Stark agreed. "I don't think I've gotten stickers for doing anything before this. And a workout is good. Especially with company."

He paused, giving her another smile, "good company."

His favorite company.

Summer's eyes slid over toward Stark with a lift of her brow, because okay, not bothering with subtly, apparently.

(And he was always so good at it, too).

"Especially with good company," she allowed, with a faint smirk, and maybe an increase of her speed, just a little, just to amp things up a bit.

It was clearly an odd Tuesday and not time for subtlety.

"Company is nearly always preferred. For me. And there's always good company to be found here. Don't you think?"

Oh, were they racing now? He could speed up too.

"Very good company, even with some of the usual company MIA this morning, apparently!" Summer said cheerfully. "Although Gladio not being here yet did give me the chance to finally meet some of the other people who work here. Have you met Sonja? She's great."

Summer might be looking forward to seeing just how great Sonja could be.

"No." Stark shook his head and gave Summer just a bit of side-eye. "I haven't met Sonja. Why? Should I?"

Summer still managed to catch just that bit of a side-eye and met it with a faint smile, a tilt of her head.

"Sure," she said. "She's nice, she's the one with the braids. And Gladio's great for all the strength stuff, all those weights and muscles, you know, but Sonja really helped me focus on my cardio game, you know? And endurance. To help me be able to go longer, faster...harder."

"I prefer a ponytail to braids. Usually."

Why would that be? It was a mystery!

"But cardio is good. I have been focusing on weights often."

And last week he'd just made the most adorable workout videos ever.

"Maybe longer and harder is something to focus on today."

Well, if that wasn't a cue for Summer to lift her chin and shake her head in a way that sent the ponytail swinging a little extra, then Summer didn't know what was.

"It's definitely something," she said, "that we'll need to really probably practice a lot to really get the hang of....you know?"

And those were super cute videos. The chin-up contest was still her favorite, personally.

Stark had definitely turned his head to get a good look at that head shake. And then taken a not terribly respectful and deliberately slow look downward at her outfit.

"You know I'm happy to help you with anything you need," he said. "Including practicing. You can practice on me all you like."
