Diaz & Ass.; Monday [08/07].
So, there'd been some whispers (well, mostly chitters) around town about some missing people (and one missing chipmunk), and since Diaz & Associates did have a particular (unfortunate) track record with animal-related cases (she would never get over the fact that it was a goddamn chicken that one time, but what did she expect? Taking a case from a chimp?), all of this had, eventually, trickled down to Rosa.
Who was mostly having a hard time caring because so far none of it had that much personal relevance to her, but at the same time, she was bored, and if this was going to turn into a weird Fandom thing, then she'd might as well try to get in front of it a little, and she was pretty sure Lester was taking the initiative on some of it, too, and, well...
So she figured, if anything, she could at least scour through some radio broadcasts for some sort of idea if this was a thing, or just a weird set out coincidences that had nothing to do with each other.
Not like she had anything better to do with her time right now, anyway.
Diaz & Ass. is open!

Or at least they were until today, but in his defense he a) didn't know Alara and b) didn't know she was missing yet.

But that was just going off of radio, because if it weren't for those squirrels, she probably wouldn't even be paying much attention to it, at this point. After all, Blackstone was still around, and she was usually sort of Rosa's gauge for these sorts of things, she always seemed to get sucked into them somehow.

Rosa, you'd literally met him several times.

He also didn't actually know who Eliot was, but then, he had the defense of having met him none times.

(Because that's exactly what it was.)
He shuffled through them until he found the one he was looking for. "There were reports of missing items- shoes, kitchenware, various other tchotchkes. The original theory was that they were connected to the people disappearing but that seems to... not be so."

"A secondary, unrelated crime wave? Or maybe one to lead us off the trail of the missing persons...Either way, not very helpful. What about the last known whereabouts? Anything there?"

If she didn't, he'd let them flutter to her desk while he reached back into his jacket's inside pocket for his notebook.
"Last known whereabouts? Their respective places of residence," he told her.
no subject
"That's ...helpful," she said wryly. "You send troopers to scope those residences out yet? To look for maybe patterns or anything else that might hint at a connection?"

super handwavilyyes," Watts nodded. "Nothing regarding the missing persons was discovered, but that was how they solved the case regarding the stolen items." Which was better than nothing, he supposed, but really hadn't been the priority for anyone except the Bee Lady, who'd been bereft regarding her missing keychain.no subject
Not for reference, but to send to Santiago and give her a heart attack.
"Thank goodness everyone's been getting their missing shoes and spatulas back, at least."

Ugh.
"...ask around more, or something."

She'd quit the FPD for a lot of reasons, Watts, and one of them was definitely to try to avoid having to do leg work like this for these things, and yet here they were.
