Liz was feeling a bit more hopeful after Nell’s visit yesterday even though she was still tired and worried about where Prompto was and how they were going to find him and Gladio and everyone who was missing.

She had Noctra downstairs with her today as she tried to stay to a routine and try to stay focused but the last thing she really felt like doing was working but she was trying to make an effort even if she wasn’t making a lot of progress with her paperwork.

Ignis had meant to come check in with Liz yesterday, but the day had rather gotten away with him. But when he finished with his class for the day, he set out to rectify that by swinging by.

With more food. Of course.

When he tried the door to the shop, he didn't expect it to open,given the circumstances, so his tone was mildly surprised when it did open and he drifted inside to ask, "Liz? Are you in?"

Liz looked up from where she had been staring at the word document she had been trying to write in but wasn’t having much luck with.

“I’m in Ignis,” Liz said quietly, as she stood up to from the computer, “I’m by the counter,” she added softly.

"I've brought more food," Ignis said, as he made he way over to the counter, lifting the bag for further proof, before setting it down. "I'm sure you've still got plenty, but, at the same time, it probably doesn't hurt to have a little more. How've you been doing? Did you need any help with Noctra, maybe get a little time to yourself for a spell?"

“Thank you,” Liz said gratefully, “its been a big help, the food you’ve brought by, Nell’s been bringing food by as well,” she said quietly.

“Actually,” she glanced down at Noctra who had fallen asleep in the pram beside her, “i …some help with Noctra would be really appreciated, she’s been rather fussy lately …she misses Prompto,” she said quietly, “we both do,”

"And then that makes three of us," Ignis said, with a faint, hopefully encouraging sort of smile. "But I'll be happy to spend a little time with her. Hopefully, though, that absence won't have to be felt for too much longer."

“Nell told me about finding the barrier,” Liz said quietly, but she felt encouraged by Ignis’ smile, “do you think there’s a chance that’s where they are?” she was trying to not get her hopes up but it had been hard when it was the first positive news they’d had since everything had happened.

"I think there's a very good chance," Ignis said. "Though I certainly wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket, I was just postulating with Nell earlier that the barrier concept reminds me a bit of the one we had protecting Insomnia; that was, of course, powered by a Crystal, and Noctis was trapped in a crystal during the Long Night. It could well be a similar situation here; if anything, the barrier raises some questions, and is a very good place to start."

"I know there's a chance it might not be anything, Nell did say she couldn't guarantee anything would happen but I do hope we'll be able to find them soon," Liz said quietly, "I ... I'm ... I don't want another week to go by," she admitted.

"If I recall correctly," said Ignis, "the incident with the holes sucking people up lasted some of us nearly a month."

Which was probably not the most encouraging thing to tell Liz right now, but if they didn't figure things out soon, it would be an important thing to remember that even that, eventually, managed to get itself sorted out.

"But at least you're not entirely alone," he reminded her. "We're here to offer you any help you may require."

Well, unless they started going missing here soon, as well.

“I wasn’t here for the holes incident,” Liz said quietly, “I heard about it when I moved back, I … I can’t imagine what that would have been like,” she was trying to not to think about the possibility that this could last a month, “but thank you for everything you’ve been doing this last week, its helped a lot, I know … I know I wouldn’t have been able to cope without you and Nell helping,”
