After setting up the specials menu for the day, Ignis was enjoying a little thoughtful time with some coffee in between customers. Well, perhaps enjoying wasn't the correct word, but he did always feel that being reflective and introspective was a good and healthy practice, if anything else. He was mostly thinking of (what else?) the events of the last few weeks, how everything had transpired, and generally trying to think of what he could have done better, but he supposed things had fallen into place as well as they could. Finding people was a task that he was at a very unique disadvantage for, so he shouldn't have felt bad for not being more proactive. Hard to see much wrong with a house you couldn't even see. He just hoped that the support he was able to provide for Nell and Liz did, indeed, help.

And, though he wished the circumstances were quite different, he would always enjoy the opportunity to take care of and spend a little time with Noctra.

You could probably blame her for the clear inspiration the specials board had taken that day, even if solid foods were only just something about to be introduced into that kid's diet.

(He could not even tell you how excited he was for that child's move onto solid foods; he had so many ideas for recipehs....)

Around lunchtime, there was a Watts, along with Steven who would also ping into his own thread. Watts directed them to the table he preferred with a “Hello, Mr. Scientia,” to announce their presence as they settled in to their seats.

"Ah, Detective Watts," Ignis nodded, and began to make his way over to the usual spot, "hello. How are we doing today?"

“All things considered?” Watts said. “Quite well, actually. Yourself?”

"All things considered?" Ignis echoed, then gave a small shrug of a shoulder. "Well enough, I suppose. Quite glad to have all the mess of the last two weeks behind us now and bracing myself for what may lie ahead in its wake. Still, a return to form is usually a great help, and, of course, getting back into the kitchen without such troublesome distractions."

“Indeed,” Watts said. “I do find a certain amount of routine to be helpful in regards to these sort of things.”

Steven, of course, sat in his usual spot next to Llewellyn. "I know it's impossible space or however she put it, but I still feel as though the layout should make sense? At least in the public area?"

Was this a conversation they'd been having before they walked in? The continuation of something that they'd started talking about yesterday which Steven was picking up again a day later as though no time had passed? Always hard to tell, with Steven.

“No, I agree,” Watts said. “And I would extend that to our portion of the house as well. I don’t particularly wish for a toilet in the middle of the kitchen.”

"Me neither," Steven agreed. "But it's trying. It gets credit for that. Not it's fault it doesn't know you don't want a loo near the food."

“No, of course not,” Watts said. “The tub upstairs does look quite nice though,” he grinned.

Steven grinned back. "We'll have to test it after we've moved in. Make sure it's all right."

Steven hesitated. "You know. Speaking of our space. I had an idea. Might be silly though."

“Oh?” Watts said. “Let’s hear it.”

"What do you think about putting your fireplace in our bedroom?" Steven asked. "The one you have back at your flat?"

[pocketpretzels]

“Why would that be silly?” Watts asked, puzzled. “That sounds lovely, actually.”

"I don't know," Steven admitted. "Too much, maybe? Fireplace in a bedroom? But I think it sounds cozy."

[pocketpretzels]

“Fireplaces kept bedrooms warm before the advent of modern heating,” Watts pointed out. “I don’t think it’s too much at all. In fact- if we are to put mine in the bedroom, do you think we could ask for a real one for downstairs?”

[hasaknightjob]

"I like how yours doesn't have to be warm," Steven said. "Means we can keep using it in the summer. And yeah. Don't see why not. I think that'd be nice. Especially when it gets cold."

“All right,” Watts said. “I wonder if it might help if we made a list?” he suggested. “Or drew up a diagram of sorts of how we thought things could be arranged? A blueprint?”

"That's a good idea," Steven said. "Floorplan or something. And a list. Bugger, we've so much to do if we're moving. We should pick up boxes on the way home, we need to pack and all."

“All of our books,” Watts said, grimacing a bit at the thought of the work ahead. “Which will be mingled together in that lovely library. Unless,” he looked suddenly hesitant. “Unless you’d rather keep them separate.”

"Of course they should be together," Steven said. He looked sheepish. "Sometimes I forget where mine are, between our two flats. This way we never have to worry."

Marc of course would despair over the chaos of a room of books under the care of two men who didn't mind if said books ended up on couches or even the floor, but then Marc could handle that by closing the door to said room. So wins all around, really.

Steven did, indeed, come in with Llewellyn and go to sit at the table Llewellyn indicated. "Hello, Ignis. How are you today?"

"Steven," Ignis nodded in the direction of his voice with the greeting. "Hello. I am well enough, thank you, all things considered."

Feeling like he was gearing up to have to master quite the juggling act, between one who reacted too little and one who reacted too much.

"And yourself?"

"Well, thank you," Steven said. "How are Prompto and Gladio doing? If you don't mind sharing, of course."

[chef_chocobro]

"And if I do mind sharing?" asked Ignis, with a quirk of a brow, but then he waved his hand dismissively to show Steven that he was just being pedantic. "Although, really, that is a question that's best left to the sources themselves."

He hesitated, just a moment.

"Especially," he added, "Prompto. He's having a rather rough time of it, I'm sure he'd appreciate being check in on. Gladio, on the other hand, seems to be taking it in stride. He does pride himself in being particularly...indomitable, and I'm sure Nell is helping considerable with that aspect as well."

"If you minded sharing then I'd understand," Steven said, because joking or not he did want to be polite. "Wasn't trying to pry is all. But thank you. That is good to know. I'll try and check in when I can. Llewellyn and I are about to be very busy with a move, you see."
