Trooper Station, Friday

Apparently the player universe felt it had been far too long since anyone at the station opened a drawer only to find it sloshing with coffee, because that’s what was happening today. Every drawer was coffee: some of it hot, some of it iced, but all of it coffee.

Hopefully no one had need of any files or anything today, because… coffee.

“Please,” Watts said, pulling out Steven’s usual chair so he could take a seat.

Why have only one kind of muffin when you could share two? It just made logical sense, really.

"So gallant," Steven said, smiling up at Llewellyn as he sat in the offered chair.

Steven then set about taking out the muffins and cutting them in two. It was highly possible these were not exactly even cuts and that Llewellyn got the larger of the pieces both times.

Which was the sort of thing Watts might protest, except that he would turn around and do exactly the same for Steven when it was his turn to serve something, so in the end it all worked out.

“For my Gentleman Knight? Of course.”

"It's nice," Steven said as he handed Llewellyn his pieces. "Being treated that way. I like it. It's romantic."

Watts leaned down to press a quick kiss to Steven’s cheek before he took his own seat.

“I like doing it for you,” Watts said. “So that works out rather nicely, doesn’t it?”

"I like having a chivalrous beau," Steven said. He moved one of the mochas in reach of Llewellyn, since those were both the same. "Feels like a luxury."

"Says the man who brings me snacks," Watts said fondly.

"But you enjoy them," Steven said, as though that made it perfectly obvious why he would bring some. Which was, perhaps, Llewellyn's exact point.

“I do,” Watts conceded. “But I don’t require them. And yet here you are regardless, making my day better both with snacks and your presence.”

"Selfish, really," Steven said. "I enjoy seeing you smile."

“Lucky for you, you’re exceedingly talented when it comes to making me smile,” Watts pointed out.

"Lucky me indeed," Steven said. "So I've been tuning next week we should make a date night of you and me in our new kitchen."

“Tired of the nearby takeout options already?” Watts asked with a teasing smile.

"Wanting to enjoy our new home to the fullest is all," Steven said. Which wasn't a no. "And I think that'd be fun. Making a date night of it."

“Oh, I agree,” Watts said. “After all, I’ve greatly enjoyed cooking with you previously, in the apartments. Cooking a meal together in our kitchen sounds absolutely perfect.”

No, Watts was not going to tire of getting to use that particular pronoun anytime soon.

"Perhaps sometime in the first half of the week then?" Steven asked. "In case we're busy this weekend getting new residents settled?"

Steven was much more optimistic about that possibility than Marc was, but Steven being more optimistic than Marc probably went without saying.

Watts couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped as Steven inquired about timing.

“I’m sorry,” he said, leaning over to kiss Steven quickly. “But here we’ve been, both of us waxing rhapsodic about no longer having to make plans to spend time together at home, and here we are- making plans to spend an evening together at home.”

"Well it's plans for a special night, isn't it?" Steven said. He understood Llewellyn wasn't making fun, but he did still want to explain. "Have to make sure we have everything on hand, it's all unpacked and that."

Also Steven might have had something extra in mind for it that he wanted to be sure was there in time.

“I know,” Watts assured him. “And I do think it a lovely idea. I just felt compelled to point out the irony.”

"I understand," Steven assured him in turn. "I do think it's fun, though. That we can have our regular nights at home and then sometimes special ones. Oh! And to think of you and me and Raphael curled up on the couch in the library, reading away with a lovely fire and cups of tea."

"That may be one of the few things one could say that would have me actually looking forward to winter," Watts confessed.

The others being opportunity to do things like skating and the like.

Steven gave Llewellyn a look of sympathy. "At least the light in our new home is good? Course if it isn't we can change it easy enough."

"I've no complaints so far," Watts said.

In fact, those times when he got up in the middle of the night since they'd moved in, he'd noticed it never seemed to be completely dark- there was always just enough light to see by, even if he'd not switched on anything himself.

"You'll let me know if you do, yeah?" Steven asked. He reached over to give Llewellyn's hand a squeeze. Because sometimes the issue was light and sometimes it was needing to know there was someone there no matter how dark. "Nice thing is, no matter what I won't be far."

“I will do my best to remember,” Watts said, because even as he’d been getting better at creating new habits, old ones remained hard to break.
