Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

It was a quiet day! Everyone was on their best behavior, and while this probably meant next week was probably going to be filled with stupid chaos, that was an issue for the future.

Right now Rey was enjoying getting to run the course and not have anything rain or be thrown at her.

"Rey?" Anakin called. "No one has a cell phone today?"

"It's perfectly normal!" she called, from somewhere high up on the course.

[sith_happened]

"That feels suspicious!" Anakin called back, laughing.

[thatwaslucky]

"You're telling me!" It was a concern!

[sith_happened]

Anakin stepped cautiously into the warehouse and glanced around, cloak swirling around his ankles. "Well, as long as we're prepared for when it all goes badly."

"Enjoy it while we can, though," she said, appearing at the top of the wall to start the climb down.

[sith_happened]

"Oh, always," Anakin agreed, launching himself at the obstacle course.

He hadn't done it in a while and he'd promised to redo it, so he needed to see what could be made much, much more difficult.

Rey kind of wished she could watch the whole thing, but she was focusing on getting down.

But once she was on the ground, she found a good spot to watch.

Anakin was going full-out today, spinning, flipping and climbing through the course. "Turn on the remotes, too," he asked when he was about a third of the way through.

"Some of us move at human speed!" Rey told him.

She was already on the ground because she's was an actual monkey but it still took her a minute to get to the remotes to turn them on for him.

"What are you doing that for?" Anakin teased, batting aside one of the remotes as they came near him.

[thatwaslucky]

"Reasons," she said with a shrug, watching.

[sith_happened]

"Seems suspicious," Anakin teased, flinging himself over a chasm.

[thatwaslucky]

"Much like our quiet day."

A quiet day with chasm flinging.

"Exactly," Anakin said, jumping onto the beams of the warehouse, which wasn't actually part of the course, but that had never really stopped him.

"You're showing off again," she noted.

[sith_happened]

"Well, maybe a little," Anakin said, dropping straight from the ceiling. "I prefer to think of it as being in the present."

[thatwaslucky]

"Or you just wanted to do that," Rey guessed.

[sith_happened]

"Or that," Anakin said with a smirk.

[thatwaslucky]

"Did you have fun?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned at her. "I really did."

[thatwaslucky]

"Do you do this at all when I'm not here?" Rey wondered.

[sith_happened]

"Sometimes," Anakin admitted, grinning. "I can't let myself go soft."

[thatwaslucky]

"Are there any parts you still need to work on?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"It's more that there are parts of Jedi training that are routine at home that would not be looked at as normal here, like mind tricks," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"You have a point," she said thoughtfully. She didn't think anyone but Anakin even knew she'd done that at all here. "Anything else like that?"

"Well, I can't go on strafing runs either," Anakin said, "but that was a wartime application of Jedi skills."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's hard for me to imagine using Jedi skills for that," she admitted. "Anything I did was a much lower scale."

[sith_happened]

"We should try it in the flight simulator," Anakin said. "It's something that needs practice, too."

[thatwaslucky]

"We could. I'm not getting a lot of practice with things trying to kill me these days," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Normally a good thing, but I know our galaxy," Anakin said wryly.

[thatwaslucky]

"My goal is to avoid that."

But. She was smarter than that.

[sith_happened]

"Well, of course," Anakin said. "But then there's the reality."

[thatwaslucky]

"Then there's the reality," she ageeed.

[sith_happened]

"So it might not be a bad thing to practice," Anakin said, nodding.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'd be okay with that," Rey said. "It's fun, anyway."

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned. "It's so much fun," he agreed. "I love flying. I miss it outside of a simulator."

[thatwaslucky]

"Do you never get to do it now?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"A shuttlecraft doesn't exactly handle like a fighter," he said regretfully.

[thatwaslucky]

"I feel like you should be able to get one." Somehow. Because Fandom?

[sith_happened]

"I'm not sure Zoe would be wild about me having the ability to strafe the island," Anakin teased.

[thatwaslucky]

"Might come in handy during an invasion," she joked.

[sith_happened]

"Like when you bombed the sharknado?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"...Sometimes you do what you need to do," she stated simply.

[sith_happened]

Anakin snorted. "Of all of the invasions we've had over the years, that might've been one of the most ridiculous. That and the flood with the giant candy bar."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey tilted her head. "The what?"

[sith_happened]

"The Krackel," Anakin said. "It was a pun on a giant Earth octopus thing."

[thatwaslucky]

".....What."

[sith_happened]

"That's almost exactly what I said," Anakin replied.
