It was entirely possible that Irene was trying to sort of will the weather to turn a bit cooler by going as hard as she was on the Halloween decorations. The display was still there, of course, but today she had kicked off her shoes and taken to a stepladder in order to better drape spiderwebs and orange and black crepe along the ceiling, as well.

Creating visual interest, and all that.

(And also something of a...manifestation by way of mind games, much as Irene was trying to pretend it wasn't. She'd look awfully silly putting up Halloween things if the temperature didn't drop, wouldn't she, island?)
