What had Octavia been Googling originally? Irrelevant, because now she was apparently reading up on the Louboutin show at Paris Fashion Week with an increasingly confused frown on her face.

People in this time were so weird about clothing sometimes.

Anyway, the club was also open.

Marc was normally the one to spend time at Devil's Nest, but Wednesday night was date night. Thus it was Steven and Llewellyn who would ping himself in who came in together to have a drink.

It worked out well regardless because it was also Steven who had reason to give a cheery wave when he saw who was working along with saying a happy, "Octavia! Hello! How are you?"

"Fine?" Octavia replied. The tone was shruggy (and sort of like a question even though it wasn't one, sorry about that), even if her shoulders weren't. "Steven with a V, right?"

"That's it," Steven said with a bright smile. "Octavia of the emergency kit. We used it, my beau and I. Well, not used, thankfully. No emergencies to hand. But we brought it along when we went camping."

And indeed, there was a Watts, who made sure his hat was hung atop one of the axes and then twirled down in to a seat at the bar with a flourish.

“Good evening,” he greeted, trying to recall if he’d met Octavia before.

Long enough ago that Octavia only had the haziest memory of it. She answered the greeting with a brief nod, in return.

Watts wasn’t particularly good about remembering names or faces of people he didn’t see frequently. That he did remember her name was really entirely Steven’s doing.

“Miss Octavia.” Because as far as he knew she didn’t have a surname. “How are you tonight?”

It hadn't gone great last time, but that was with Luce and its own special circumstance. Duke knew this was Octavia's night, so he swung through the Nest at the end of his now nightly walk around the island.

"What's got you all furrowed?"

Duke nodded back. This guy was too cheerful and lacked too much irony to be Marc, so instead of calling him by name, he stuck with: "How's it going?"

Octavia looked up, the furrow giving way to raised eyebrows that seemed to somehow still be conveying the same emotion.

"People are weird."

Duke nodded. "True." He leaned his chin on his hand. "What weird thing are they doing now?"

"Hey," Duke greeted, giving Watts a brief up and down. "Nice suit."

Irene was fresh from a long weekend away shopping in New York, having whisked herself off promptly Friday afternoon due to nothing at all. Certainly not a lack of visitors making her a bit sad, or a man who looked like someone she never had thought she'd see again. (Though, truly, Sherlock ought to think about growing a beard. It made an enormous difference.)

In any case, she was relatively content tonight, after a few days decidedly not thinking. She slid onto a barstool, her clothes freshly tailored and her hair newly blown out, and offered out a wide smile to the bartender. "Evening, Octavia."

“Miss Adler!” Watts greeted cheerfully, giving her a visible once-over. “You’re looking- especially sharp tonight.”

"Thank you, Detective," Irene replied with a widening of her smile and a performatively flirtatious flip of that blown-out hair. "I spent a bit of time updating my wardrobe this weekend."

It had so needed it, of course.

"Just fine," Irene assured her, which was almost true, if you squinted. She was fine now, anyway. "And yourself? You three get any visitors this weekend?"

Tiny was also being addressed with a pair of delicately raised fingers and a mouthed, "Martini?" because why break with tradition?
